I would take either running back any single day of the week. Ware can be flat-out explosive. Ford is a consistent power back.
Glad they're both only Sophomores.

I keep having to repeat this. I know Michael Ford personally. I watched him play in high school for four years. He is a great kid. I waited for years to watch him dominate defenses in the SEC.
But - he doesn't make the starting team and is red-shirted (expected) but doesn't make it the next season either (unexpected.)
After watching them all play, I agree that Spencer Ware is a better back than Ford - it pains me to say that.
I love watching him play and think he is head and shoulders above Blue, but he is not better than Ware.
I saw one reason last night that suggests why he didn't crack the starting lineup earlier. One one of the pass plays in the first half, Ford was in and let a DL whiff right by him without touching him - Lee got the pass off but was leveled in the process.
If Ford cannot block, he can't be in there all the time.
I hope he improves and starts outplaying Ware - but until that happens - GO Ware, GO Ford, GO Tigers.

Both will be needed this year, doesn't matter to me which one is #1, they both make plays this season.

It seemed to me that every time ware got to the line he just put his head down and ran forward, I like his power but you cant see open holes if you're looking at the turf.

i think he almost got lee killed when he did that "ole". i was like whoa did he not SEE that guy?
He played great but I still think that Ware is better but Ford was great and it's a sick combo

Ware and ford are a solid 1-2 combo. Why change it? It is working.

Both can run for 100 yards.
Caddilac/Ronnie. It's on.

Micheal Ford should be the number one tailback!!!!!!
No. Ware pounded that DLine and Ford came in late and capitalized on a beat up defense. It's a good combo, but It works best in that order.

Is it possible that Ford looked so good BECAUSE of Ware's pounding it?

I think LSU is pretty salty at running back no matter who is in there. Geaux Tigers!

I think Ware and Ford should split just like they did. The both did a great job last night.

I'm dissappointed I responded to this. It amazes me thatwe offer advice like this despite the coaches seeing these guys play several hundred more snaps/plays than we do.
I thought Ford looked better too last night. But it is beyond irrelevant. Perhaps Ford's ability to take it to the house from anywhere on the field is sacred with our offense; hence, it's paramount to lessen his wear and tear . This avoids the chances for injury, keeps him fresh, and reduces the chance of the Alabama's gameplanning for the plays where we intend on featuring him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't like Jacob Hester hogging all the carries with C. Scott, K. Williams, and T. Holliday behind him; but things worked out well

quote:right on, Ware is the workhorse that pounds defenses and Ford is quick and explosive, he hits the holes faster than Ware, but both are good backs, LSU should keep them as it is.

I read this by MF in the paper today. He said something to effect of Spencer Ware soften them up for me. Maybe they weren't running as fast when I got in the game. Just busting your bubble...I got the idea and yes it is a great combo.
