If Miles really does this, i think its a strong indication that he knows his days are numbered and he is trying to take down the LSU program with him.

Les has some challenges but so far he's ran a classy program; let Phelon and Sidell transfer as easily as possible.

Doesn't sound like something he would do.

I think we get two full seasons from Ford and no more.

Anybody thinking he stays here for a full three years is kidding themselves.

I don't think it matters if he plays next game or not relative to when he leaves LSU.

As for me - and I am a HUGE Ford fan - I would be ok with him playing against Ark.

Of course, if I REALLY thought it would cost him a year at LSU I would not be for it. I just think that 2011 will be his last season here - regardless of whether he plays Sat or not.

Who knows?

I didn't expect Keiland Williams to be here either, but he stayed -Reasons Aside.

Burning his redshirt for the 3-5 carries he will get in the Arkansas game is foolish though.

Why doesn't he use T. Holliday out of the backfield.

We had a ton of trouble with McCluster, I would think LSU could use Holiday to similar results.

I really don't get your coach.

FWIW, ChineseBandits58 was the only logical person in this thread. He is right and maybe he should have played earlier but L.M. with his play the older player over the better player concept is part of his stubborn demeanor as a H.C. in today's College atmosphere. MF, may be better than all that is left?

We compare and fuss about $aban but he burnt a D.B. R.S. year one season; and there wasn't all of this kind of commotion then. Why, because Les is soft and $aban isn't and he would have told you all, that he was the coach and to shove it. Plus N.S. is much gifted at his job than L.M. is. (Almost Light years in difference). Look how far Trent Richardson has come playing his freshman year? $aban knows that he won't be around after 2011, just like ChineseBandits58 stated about Mike Ford. Heck he is even using Star Jackson in mop up duty already. Come on people, get a grip?

The end at LSU is, if L.M. stays on another year. He is going to loose recruits to not only N.S. but to Chezik, Mullen, Johnson at Vandy, etc. Believe what you want, but the hand writing is on the wall, if action isn't taken now; season tickets will be cheap. Don't let fools put crap in your heads? Look with your own eyes, it is easy to see.

I apologize for entering this so late, I got side tracked with something else. To all of the players on Senior Night in Tiger Stadium ...

We have absolutely nothing to play for. We are bowl eligible. At this point I don't care what bowl we go to. No point in taking away Ford's redshirt. We may need him in the next few years. Would be a total waste of a whole year.

He's not gonna do it. They're just not leaving him unprepared to take snaps if Ridley, Shepard, Holliday get hurt.

That's just prudent. Why he even felt like mentioning something that obvious is the real question. If he's this gun-shy right now I'm afraid.

I say play whoever is best. I don't understand this redshirt fixation with most LSU fans. Do you want football players on the field or on the bench? Play only 5th year seniors and tell recruits if you want to play up to your ability in the now moment then go somewhere else. Or how about a freshman team?

Miles will not gain from Ford's playing at all.

If Ford is a bust, Miles will have wasted an entire year of eligibility for this kid.

If Ford lights it up big time and we win, Miles is looked upon as incompetent for not using him.

If Ford lights it up big time, and we lose anyway, it will be REALLY BAD for Miles.

Lose-Lose-Lose.

Worst part about this is why would you pull off his redshirt when we are playing the team with the following rankings:

Passing Defense: 108th (last in the SEC)
Passing Efficiency Defense: 100th (last in the SEC)

Really? You're going to take off a running back's redshirt for a game against a team that is worst in the league in pass defense eventhough you have Holiday, Ridley, and Shepherd at your disposal for the running game?

I am sorry, but even mentioning this possibility tells me how stupid Miles and his staff are.

Miles is fricken clueless, he has no idea what he sounds like to the outside person. To even mention this is crazy. Is there someone within ear shot to tell him how stupid this is? As someone said before, it is lose, lose, lose, proposition. Someone needs to get a brain over there in the football room, quick.
