Anyone concerned with moving Divinity to the inside? To me he seems soft at times last season and got dominated in the ole miss game along with a couple other games early on. He obviously improved at the season went on. Thought for sure that P. Queen would have taken over for White. Not saying I know more than the coaches, with there experience and time spent on the practice field but watching the games last yr made me think he was decent at OLB. Thoughts?!?

So you think he’s a better MLB than OLB?

I think we will have some major growing pains with him in the middle.
I don't see it working.

I think the OP's posts were better before his "transition."

I think he moved because you can get to more plays from the middle of the field. So since he’s one of our best LBs, and Chassion is back to man the outside, it makes sense.

I’ll get downvoted like the OP but I agree. I’d much rather have him on the outside because his game seems much more suited to be outside.

But I’m sure Aranda knows more than me.

ETA: I was also shocked when I heard O saying Phillips is “competing” for a starting job. I thought the dude had been lights out and has more than proven himself.

But wtf do I know

If Aranda thinks he’s better there, it’s more than good enough for me.

How many hrs of film on MD have you watched? Hrs at practice? How does your football resume compare to the best DC in college football? Good Lord.

Like I said, I’m sure Aranda knows more than me. Doesn’t mean I can’t disagree with it though.

I've said it since I saw him play in high school, Divinity's play reminds me a lot of Kwon Alexander.

He seems to play just fine in the middle against NFL offenses.

Precisely. Jacob Phillips was set to be the front runner at ILB along with queen but we’ll see what happens

He has more qb pressures than any returning Lber in the Sec. soft ? Nope. He’s smart and needs to relay playcalls. He’s the right guy to replace Devins role rt now

He a great player with the talent to play inside and outside. Inside his natural position though and considering we stacked at linebacker and he the only one not in a position battle. That should tell you all you need to know. What I meant by make it stop is make the tread on this subject stop. It’s just dumb

I agree he’s a talented player and has a nose for the ball. My only concern is how he got straight dominated by ole miss FB and TE all game long. To me LSU has always had inside LB’s that wouldn’t get physically dominated. I personally think he’s an OLB with a gift for the pass rush and is pretty solid in coverage. I 100% take Aranda's assessment of Divinity as truth but I think the nature of this thread got taken as as Divinity is garbage vs it’s intention of Divinity would fit better outside as pass rush/ containment/ setting the edge. I should have clarified that I’m more worried about why he’s being moved inside vs his ability to play inside
