What most of the complainers don’t realize, there is a noticeable correlation between how well the football team does and donations to the academic side. People feel good about the university, they give. Cliff Vannoy from the alumni center will tell you. Hell Rick Perry from TAF knows because he worked there in the eighties.

Well, Eric Reid is wrong for his comment that has helped shed a negative light towards his university.

That said, I find it very classy seeing all these Tiger fans say, "frick him," when they were cheering their asses off for him just 7 seasons ago.

All in all, Eric needs to find better ways to say players should be paid, but for you lame asses on here getting behind Divinity, I can almost guarantee you that he could care less that you back what he has said. I can fully guarantee you that he's not going to say, "frick Eric Reid."

Y'all are right that Divinity is smart. He's entirely smarter than most of you and certainly more civil.

Eric knows a lot about oppression considering he grew up in a wealthy neighborhood. His brother doesn’t seem to act this way.

It's called left coast brainwashing. It's funny how kapernick who was raised by two white people and is mixed biologically along with Reid who grew up in a middle to upper class family are the poster boys for racial oppression. They've made it their job to make every issue about race and stir the masses. It's a damn shame that people buy in to their bullshite.

His bold move was to go after Emily Dixon. Guy is a bitch.

You seem to want to “string up” people who disagree with you. Not really - just using the same logic you used.

you're linking an entirely different perspective. on top of that, you make a very general statement about Eric Reid, and I'll assume that you're also linking his involvement with Kapernick.

Wealthy, educated blacks know more about the said oppression of their ancestors and feel the need to express their disapproval for what has happened.

Forgive and forget doesn't work here like it doesn't work with Hitler and Nazi Germany.

For me, personally, I simply look at how long it took slavery and everything linked to it (Jim Crow) to truly die. Here's something to think about: there are still families in poverty in places like Yazoo City, MS with direct links as far back as slavery (that's if you can link blood lines, which we already know you can't). In other words, descendants from slaves ~150 years ago have been and are still in poverty. My point is to say that you know NOTHING about what it means to be oppressed. Remove it from your mouth.

And neither has experienced "the struggle" a day in their lives. Reid's family is loaded.

“March”? If so you’re dead wrong on this one
Ever heard of the KKK or the Proud Boys? They are right wing facists who are allowed to march - as is their right.

Anger for Eric Reid is misguided.

We should be angry at our founders for utilizing slavery as a resource.

Yeah, our Christian Nation at its very roots enslaved humans and did it for many years.

Yeah, no shite. So did all of Arabia, Asia, American Indians, Mongols, Turks, Persians, Norsemen, AND sub-Saharin Africans. Slavery was the way of the world until the industrial revolution made it unnecessary. It was the way of the world until the BRITISH sent forth their navy, at great expense, motivated by their Christian values, and blockaded the West African coast. It was the way of the world until the United States spent amazing quantities of blood and treasure - mostly white blood and white treasure - to end it.

Slavery continued as the way of the rest of the world long after the West took the very radical stance that it was wrong. The Japanese took Chinese and Korean slaves in the 1930’s. The Arabs were still taking slaves during that period.

We are all descended from slaves and from slave holders. Our American ancestors should have ended slavery sooner, but to say they should never have taken slaves is naive.

Thankfully that's been gone for a long long time now. It's time to move on and stop using that terrible era as an excuse for modern day failure and underachievement.

I'm not sure why this confuses you. A lot of people here would still be cheering him on if he hadn't become a POS.

huh? I personally don't need him to care at all about my opinion. But, in his one sentence he 100% nailed the issue. That makes me like and respect him a ton.

I couldn't have said this any better, but would have used better grammar and sentence structure.

Put your money where your mouth is, Eric, our would you simply prefer to kneel and do nothing? How about paying the tuition for Alton Sterling's pervert son? After all, Alton's death is the reason for all of your virtue signalling.

So, they've had ~150 years for their families to pull themselves out of it. How much time do they need to quit using slavery as an excuse?
