He was 6’0 165 pounds RH that threw a mid 80’s fastball. I’m not saying he shouldn’t have recruited him but I get why he may not have been on his radar.

I’m looking at their notable wins.

Bama ( march)
Ole miss 1-1
MSU (march)
All mid-week games.

The rest of their schedule is hot trash. I mean they won a couple series to decent teams, but nothing that jumps off the paper. Unless I’m missing something.

Lost twice to UTSA in the tourney. Big the second one.

They’re a good team, but nothing to worry about IMO

CUSA isn’t a terrible baseball conference. It finished 5th in conference RPI and 1st among mid majors.

Waldrep is the velo and spin rate darling of USM’s staff, I reckon he’d go against LSU. Touched 102 mph this season

Bet Hall turns the game over to the bullpen in the 5th or 6th if USM is cruising

Explain to me then.

I didn’t say they were a terrible team.

Show me where their schedule isn’t hot trash.

Show me who pops off their schedule?

They are 10-7 in May. Explain to me where their big wins in May were?

Again, decent team. A team to be afraid of? Show me why.

Look, im not saying they played murderers row. But they took 2 of 3 from la tech, swept charlotte at charlotte (underrated team), took 2 of 3 from utsa (a tourney bubble team).

But more importantly than all that, they have one of the top pitching staffs in the country. Im not saying we need to be afraid of them or anything. But to say they wont be a problem is ignorant. Lsu will be on the road in a tough environment. They are gonna break an attendance record for the lsu games most likely. Its gonna be a tough atmosphere most likely facing an electric arm in waldrep or a good arm in riggins. There is a reason lsu isnt a massive favorite to win the regional.

Oh absolutely if USM and LSU play tomorrow it'll be a 6-4 or 5-3 game.

You called me obtuse.

They beat Charlotte, I agree underrated, and La tech, in the beginning of April. Great wins for USM and CUSA, no doubt.

They have lost 3/5 to UTSA in the last two weeks.
They are 10-7 in May, with a series loss to Old Dominion and Ended April losing the series to UAB.
Then got bounced from the tourney with an 11-2 loss.

Again, not really a team to be worried about.

Obtuse though?

You’re factoring the crowd and home advantage.
LSU has been amazing on the road. Playing against bigger crowds and better competition.
Will USM give them everything they have? Sure. But on any planet should LSU players worry about those factors? C’mon man, you’re making excuses before the game.

Devils advocate, their pitching numbers are great because their schedule is weak.

So a typical Sunday in the SEC crowd?

I kid a little. I’m not saying it won’t be crazy but even with them breaking an attendance record you aren’t talking about more people than these LSU players haven’t played in front of.

Crazy I went look up SOS to see if this point is was on or not and they are 52 in the sos right around Notre Dame and Arky.

The crazy part is Kennesaw State has a top 30 sos.

There isn’t an LSU player worried about any of that stuff. That’s my point.
I mean I can tell some fans are worried. But that doesn’t mean anything.

LSU should win this regional, without any doubt.
Our line up is filthy. We have the pitching to get past these teams. So, let’s see what the defense does and which starting pitchers show up.
No reason to worry about any team in this regional.
