He’s only pitching if we have a late lead ……if then . You people need to accept that.

I mean its not that surprising tbh. Would be one helluva story if Coleman shoves for 4 innings then turns the ball over to Hurd for 3 innings and we close it out with Skenes for the last 6 outs.

We won’t have a late lead if he doesn’t pitch so we will have to accept that too

They’ve got to piece together 27 outs somehow. Florida doesn’t hit lefties as good as righties. If Cooper is still sick, Skenes has a hard pitch count, and they think they need need Coleman to get 3-6 outs at some point, doing it in the 6 o’clock shadows might be the best time to do it.

If Cooper can’t go and Ack is obviously burned, Coleman and Herring are the only 2 lefties we’ve got. The plan could be to try to take advantage of the shadows and hope they get you through 4, then go to Hurd and let Skenes finish it. We’d much rather have Cooper in there, but if he’s not available, they have to adjust.

Coleman struggled the other day, but I think he was just too amped up and it caused him to not have good command. But he’s at least been under the pressure of starting and elimination game on that mound, so that experience could help. And it didn’t work out, but you have to be impressed with his wanting the ball.

There is no obvious, perfect combination to get 27 outs. With Skenes and Hurd on short rest and Cooper maybe not available—even if he is, he’s pitched so much this series and a day after having a stomach bug, you’d have to think he’d be fatigued even if he can go—Jay’s gonna have to gamble with the order he uses whoever to get to 27 outs. There’s arguments for and against any order. He’s just got to go with his best instincts and hope it’s the right one. And if it doesn’t go exactly as planned, hope the bats come alive and mitigate potential mistakes.

If your argument is that LSU will be outscored whenever Skenes is not in the game then when he pitches doesnt matter at all.

It's a stupid argument.

Florida doesn’t hit LHP very well
I know the ball was invisible to them from Floyd. I start Hurd and dont look back, then Herring, then Coleman, then Skenes to wrap it up if needed.

Forgot ab the shadows. Might make sense to start JC and try to steal a couple innings while the shadows are bad. If its sunny.

If he can get us through 2-3 innings, only giving up 2 or fewer runs... then I would take it.

Winning the championship series without scoring more than 4 runs in any of the 3 games is a big ask for any pitching staff. The offense needs to show up!

I really want to have Hurd go for 70-80 pitches tonight, then Herring for 60-70. Then Skenes. I just dont see Coleman being ready right now. But if he has command he could get the job done.

I don’t buy it. If they were gonna start a lefty, you’d go Herring over Coleman right?

If Cooper can't pitch and Skenes wont pitch(Totally his decision and I am not mad about it) = LSU in deep shite tonight..

As I was hoping to get about 5-6 innings from these 2 tonight
