and no mett is not improving as far as I can see. at best he's what he was when we started the season.

LTech put up over 400 yards in the air on A&M. We had less than 100

have faith in Mett.

As do I. Mett rarely has a receiver more than a hair open. If he does it's on the long ball which he does throw long on but as mentioned does not throw the interception. Lot of problems in the passing game for sure but it can't be pinned totally on Mett by any stretch. I think the main problem is total lack of creativity on offense but we've been down that path before. I'm hoping for a new OC next year. No knock on Stud as he has had success but he needs to focus on one either the OL or OC. Bottom line is we're young or inexperienced at too may offensive positions this year.

He wasn't exactly slinging the ball 40 yards down field either. Manziel's longest pass of the day was 27 yards, Mett's was 29. And his average yards per completion was about 9.5, Mett's just under 9.

Now, I'm not saying that Mett didn't have a bad day, but he definitely attempted more down field passes than Manziel so it stands to reason that he would have been more affected by the wind.

Also, one QB threw 1 TD with no interceptions, the other 0 TDs with 3 interceptions. I'll take the QB that didn't lose the game for his team.

That long pass he threw to OBJ in the 4th where the DB held OBJ's arm down for the pass interfernce penalty was a beautiful pass. It was perfect and would have been a TD.

I haven't seen any drastic improvement other than that he didn't turn the ball over. That being said, he missed several open receivers on what should have been fairly routine throws. Somebody on the coaching staff needs to address this and get the QB and receivers on the same page.

If Mett's read progression on the field was as good as it is at Bogie's, he'd be unstoppable.

Wow, you are really a GLASS HALF FULL sort of viewer.

Yes, Mett is improving in the turn-over department. Against Alabama, he needs to continue this no turn-over trend.

But the guy can't pass or run. Would be nice to see some improvement there.

No he isn't. Pocket awareness is horrible and Alabama will kill him if he doesn't improve in 2 weeks.

+1
if he is... not by much...
the completed TD pass was all on the receiver...
even ESPN recognizes the exceptional catch.

I also counted multiple times where 3 secs came and went and the ball was still in his hands.

THIS INEPTITUDE should have been recognized by coaching staff last year and he should have been given more playing time...there were plenty of opportunities....he'd be further along.

I will add this which I posted in another thread:

if you think openly and not just JUSTIFY things with a winning record..

which QB that has been to LSU left the school being a better QB ???- taking away natural improvements NONE.
Our staff, did not make any of them better...
they all improved little, but due to age, natural talent and playing time...not development.

J Russell
Flynn
will leave RP out
JJ
JL
Mett.. stiil being written.

I see freshmen QBs at other schools and even at Div II schools with better QB skill sets.

If he can put some touch on his passes he would be a way better. He had some open guys he just overthrew.

What's funny is he completes his first few in every game and then goes 0 for his next 11.

Also, it would be nice if he could run just a little. JJ was good for a 10 yard run a couple of times a game.

not really. I think experience has made a bit more aware of what's going on around him, but his accuracy has been way off. hopefully a couple weeks of practice fix that.

Mett's Pocket awareness is horrible especially his footwork he will need to be moving out of the pocket when we play bama, cause the blitz will be on. The only thing though is when Mett rolls out of the pocket most times he's either sacked or when he throws the ball he really misses his target real bad .

No need to post logic in here. All most of the people on here want to do is complain about something. I was in the stadium and the wind was definitely a factor. I am not saying that Mett didn't make some mistakes, but all of the overthrows came when he was throwing with the wind. The balls he throw into the wind were not bad, including the TD to Boone and the catchable ball to OBJ that resulted in a pass interference call.

He does still need to work on pocket awareness but I agree with the OP, he is improving. If he has a good game in 2 weeks every negative poster in here will be telling you how they knew it was only a matter of time. Same old TD, different week.

Manziel is only 19 years old freshman! I would give anything to have him as our QB! Our problem is Mett! He is slow, not consistant, and cant run! In years past, we typically had a QB that could throw desent and could run well. Defences we played would have to respect the QB running. Not this year or in years to come with Mett.
