Mariota isn't getting traded. The trade would of had to be done before the pick or you run into some issues with slot pay. If he was traded for the 19th pick he could only get paid as the 19th pick based on slotting just the way the nfl works. Not like the nba when you see post pick trades. Mett is a sitting duck in the pocket just like he was at LSU. He isn't the future there it's obvious that's why they made the pick. Just doesn't have the mobility to be NFL qb.

Titans could have taken Amari Cooper and kept Mettenberger I believe they would have been better off. we will never know now. I hope Mett can get another chance somewhere else. I believe he has NFL skills

I'm going to laugh histerically when Mariota gets legitimately beat out...I personally think he won't translate in the league.

Well never know if our what Philly offered them, but if they really offered as much as what was rumored, they're pretty dumb to not do it. They could have stacked their team for years to come

6'5 - 230. Fast release and a rifle for an arm. Good anticipation and can throw into any window. Tough kid with big time guts. Mobility is his only knock. Mett will have a solid career in the league.

I heard a guy in NFL radio on sirius basically say that the only reason he could think they would draft MAriota given their Qb situation and the teams needs is that Mariota as a starter basically buys you 3 years as a coach.
Mett as a starter gets you about 2 more.

Huh? They went 0-6 with Mett as the starter.
What's so hard to understand. If Mett had not kept them in games, they would have lost worse and the point differential factor, which is relatively unknown, would have made them 2 and 14- and they get the first pick.
I love Mett. He is an all time favorite of mine. I want him to be great in the league and I think he can be.
However, at this point I have more confidence in what Gruden sees than LSU fans who have likely not watched Mariota play much and have never watched a minute of film.

I hope the Cowboys offer a 3rd round pick for him and get him. If the Titans value him so little let him come here. Jerry is crazy if he thinks Romo has 5 years left. Noone believes that around here and not even sure if he holds up for the next 2. Who knows. But the Cowboys need a QB of the future now. Mett passed for right at 60% completion in a rookie year on a mediocre team. He has the size, the arm and the stuff to make it in this league and he already has one year of experience. If your willing to take Brice Petty or the kid from, CSU then I'll trade a third for Mett. any day. I think he is going to be really good NFL QB.
