I will say this, this is the first time in the last few years that we are more excited about the offense than the defense. Or at least I am

The media needs to stop with this whole "doubt a team b/c of an unproven QB" BS. Take the last 3 National Champions.

Bama in '09 - McElroy
Auburn 2010 - Newton
Bama in '11 - McCarron

All 3 were 1st year starting quarterbacks in the SEC. So, it's a stupid argument to be made.

Really, 4 out of the last 5 with Flynn in 2007.

If you look at Bama as a model for LSU, I think it bodes well for LSU. You don't force the QB to carry your team. You keep realistic expectations about your QB, and allow him to manage the game.

I just never liked how the LSU coaching staff the past four years seemed to game plan around the QBs and not for them.

Obviously the team did OK last year, but it really hurt them when they needed a QB to step up.

He tested his wheels against Ole Piss last year, looked like they worked.

I could honestly care less what people like Bayless and Steven Smith have to say. The closest they have ever come to real competition is carrying the jocks of the real athletes. No MNC has ever been won or lost based on what these idiots have to say.

Speaking of idiots. I live in Hillbilly Hell, Arkansas and these guys are predicting the Swine to run the tables and win the MNC.

It doesn't matter who these "experts" pick to win the NC. Let them eat crow when we bring that crystal football back to BR

I live right across the state line from AR so I see a LOT of Hog fans. It's surprising how many of them really think they should win the MNC EVERY year! :-)

I love the purple coolaid, but Mett is unproven in game play. Hopefully that will change as the season moves on and Mett will prove to be all we hope. It's all talk and talk means nothing. Gotta play the games...and I can't wait - Saturday night can't get here soon enough! We're starting high enough in the rankings that all we have to do is win.

The winningest QB in LSU history was Jefferson. And he wouldn't have started on any other team in the country.

Somehow this is true.

Cowherd picked LSU to win it all today...one of his reasons was a pro level talent at QB
