You haven't read the thread...yes, he has the most upside of anyone, and he's getting more confident in that opinion on a minute by minute basis

bridgewater looks really weird in a helmet.

I'm like 89% confident Mettenberger won't do anything relevant in the NFL.

And here's my next question, and it kind of throws a wrench in the conversation. Would you rather spend a 1st on Bridgewater or a 3rd on Mettenberger?

This thread can go on forever, but it's all still speculation. It depends on these guys ending up in the right situation for them.

Some are ready to play year 1 or 2. Most are 2 to 3 years projects. Bridgewater just does more things better than Mett right now.

Mett has to go to place that would allow him to work on his pocket awareness and accuracy. His accuracy improved this year, but he's not close to being consistent enough to throw the deep ball well in the NFL.

Bortles needs to work on the same things as Mett. I live near UCF so I watched several of his games this year. Dude is a play-maker who deserves a lot of the recognition he just started receiving.

I am much lower on Mett than most people. He has happy feet, and he is immobile in the pocket. Yes, Brady is slow as hell, but he can move around the pocket.

Bridge throws loopers (not NFL) and Da Mett throws ropes....

End of story...

Gi back and look at Jarvis and OBJ highlights and notice where they caught balls...right on the numbers...

Mett is a sleeper. NFL coaches are a big club and Cam loves the guy. His support is golden to Mett.

If we go back and look at OBJ's and Landry's catches the more you notice Mett's lack of accuracy down field. Many times those guys had to make spectacular catches down field to make those throws complete.

The Ole Miss game is all you need to know about what Mett would look like in the NFL trying to start day one. Unless he ended up with a team with a great OL.

Mett is probably one of the easier QBs to project, if you're an NFL team. He has an elite arm and good size, but lacks speed.
In one season under Cameron, he went from wasted potential and undrafted, to one of the better QBs in the SEC.

It's simple; do you run a pocket passing scheme? Do you have a coach like Cameron who can develop him further? Do you have 3 years to wait before he has to start, and will your current QB help to guide him?
If so, Mett has a good chance to be a Pro Bowl QB in 4-5 yrs. If not, he's a career backup.

Mett's mobility is 0. He could be the least mobile QB in NFL history. A killer at the highest level. Bridgewater has the better NFL career.

Sounds like the Texans and Bill O'Brien to me.

Because the only thing I see that bridgewater has over Mett is mobility. But that doesn't make you a good qb. And I was just spouting off two young guys that to me were similar to bridgewater in college. Doesn't make them a better qb. Is all I'm saying. Mett had a diff oc every year of his college career. So that's why he has a better upside. He finally got good coaching and you could see the difference. He showed the ability to grow and improve. I really haven't seen that from Teddy.

Teddy never played a team even as good as Ole miss on a regular basis. Without an oline in the NFL, no qb is good. Not even vick in his prime. I just think Mett is more prototypical. shite why can't I support my player? A dude that was a warrior for LSU.

And if you look before last year, wrs weren't making those catches. Yeah JJ and Lee were mediocre, but the wrs didn't help. Even brees needs dudes to go up and get it. Breed is prob the most accurate qb in the league.

Another example, not every pass Stafford has completed to megatron was on the money. Wrs have to go up and get the ball win you have 6'2 conerbacks.

Mett probably does throw the deep out better than anyone in the draft and throws it better than some current NFL QBs, his pocket awareness, touch, check-off ability, im-mobility are his drawbacks

he made real improvement last year, if he can continue to learn and improve he could turn into a very good pocket passer in the NFL...

would like to see him complete a deep out to an NFL receiver in a game, would be gratifying

I love Mett and wish him nothing but success. I don't see him as an NFL starter. Complete lack of mobility only works for two QBs and Mett isn't Peyton or Brady.

Hope I'm wrong.

Well, your "only thing" is a really big thing in this NFL. The pocket passer without mobility is a dying breed.

Mett throws the deep ball better than anyone?? I don't know what you were watching. He's had problems connecting with Beckham regularly on that pass since the beginning. Mettenberger's strength is throwing lasers downfield because his arm is so strong. The ball gets there fast and powerful.

Everyone talks about Mett's lack of mobility - how do y'all know that he won't be at least a little more mobile now that his leg has been repaired? Its obvious he was having problems with it for some time, it just didn't snap completely until the Arky game.
