If he is good enough, he will play. Lot of you guys just assume he will be some great qb. I hope that he will. Look at brantley down in florida though. Remember the media last year saying if tebow didn't play it didn't matter because florida wouldn't miss a beat.....

You never know how good these kids will be. I have a hunch JL will be the starting qb next year after this year unfolds......

I could see Mett starting with a new OC, and JJ coming in during goal line situations.

I could also see Lee battling Mett for the starting job in a pro style offense with a OC/QB coach to teach him the proper footwork

I'd like to think it's fact; that LSU coaches would put the most talented, best performing players on the field.

1) No real idea how Mett stacks up against JJ or J. Lee but it sounds like he's got more going;

2) Given the haphazard way LSU has been playing personnel this season, Mike the Tiger mascot will get put into rotation before a 5 star recruit from a JUCO.

to me it will be dependent on if LSU gets a new OC, which I think will happen

that being the case and now all the qbs are on the same level as far as knowledge of the system, thus it will come down to who picks up the system the fastest and best

I hope that is Mett but I wouldnt be upset if Lee takes it as hes got the ability and it will be interesting to see him in an offense that suits his abilities.

If he comes to LSU he will start IMO. Remember he is no rookie. Will be a r/s soph next season. Appears to have as much arm strength as Lee with a nice release for a big guy. Moves his feet well and has good pocket presence. Steps up in the pocket when appropriate to avoid the rush and that is sometimes(JJ) difficult to teach. I also don't think he will attend LSU unless some strong commitments are made by the coaching staff petaining to schemes and playcalling.

If he signs, one of the two QBs we currently are playing will transfer for the spring semester. I am guessing that Lee transfers and Miles seems to have a preference for JJ. I could see Lee transfering to Sam Houston State or a like Texas college.

Mettenberger will go through Spring and the likely implemetation of a new offense from a new OC.

I think the remainder of this season will have more to do with whether or not he starts, even with all of that mentioned above as the amount of pressure on Miles to win will be directly dependent on how we finish.

If we finish by losing 3 of 4, ZM starts because Miles will be squarely on the hot seat starting next season. If we win out or only lose one more, JJ starts in all likelihood.

At any rate, I think that ZM is probably the starter by the State game.
Just my opinion.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive...

And JL isn't going to transfer.

So that leaves mett as a junior qb in 2012 with rivers as a RS frosh

Jefferson will start, Lee will come in on second down and Mettenburg will play on third down.
If we get to the five yard line, Spencer Ware will run the wildcat on first down, Jefferson and Lee will be in on second down and Mett will play third down.

Hey, it's not anymore stupid than the rotation we are already doing.

If at least Crouton is not gone, much less Stud at the end of this year if not sooner than these 2 should have 2 suit up and execute their own coaching.

I think Crowton is gone no matter what, as Miles scapegoat.

But I think this is exactly the offense that Les wants, so I cant see another coordinator coming in and having significant changes.

Remember, Les Miles is a crazy man, he is still out to prove that JJ will be all-SEC by next season

Gonzales will replace Crowton. No great O.C. will come here with Miles on the hot seat. I'd expect the same scheme and one of the QB's will transfer IMO

Definitely. Crowton out no matter the record. You don't finish in the 100's in offense for 2 years in a row and have a declining offense for 3 and keep your job.
