agree he is no leader, a leader would never do this.
however I feel it is all on Zach his drop is too long, he really does not have a quick release and he never stepped up in the pocket, maybe twice. He over threw a game winning second down conversion and his int in the first half could have cost us 3 points should we have gotten in range he always over throws the deep ball and the staff did little to help vadal but with a qb with such poor pocket presence thus will always happen

Think about it, have we ever heard a QB single out a player like this before? I'm trying to remember if I ever heard someone call out a position/name like this before.......

Never call out a player, thats BS. I expect more from my QB, if this is the way he is we will continue to lose close games. You win and u lose as a team, Period.
Leadership is the most important thing a QB can have. Making excuses like this for your own poor play is weak minded.

Very disturbing.

There was no position last night where LSU was more mismatched than QB.

Gotta be an elite QB to even try some punk-arse shite like that.

And Mett is nowhere close to an elite QB.

He needs to STFU.

Indeed. Stuff like this is why I still remain a fan of Notre Dame football, despite the weirdness of its fan base and PR hype machine.

I could simply never imagine Gunner Kiel, or any other QB for that matter, saying something like this at ND.

Go Irish!

Heck of a leader Mr. Overthrow has turned out to be. quote:"Our gameplan was really good, everything we wanted to run was there," Mettenberger said. "We had a right tackle (Vadal Alexander) that had an off night toni

The problem isn't what Mett said which was the truth and I know the truth hurts. The question is that everyone saw the same thing but the coaching staff didn't try to make adjustments to help deal with the situation. The problem is the staff can't seem to make adjustments to deal with adverse situations.

The only question I have is could he just one time step up and shift left or right and either run, throw it away, or hit the drag route?

At least three of the sacks would have been avoided easily as the pressure was normally coming from one side of the pocket caving. If he steps up and runs away from the pocket he could have a better chance versus just ducking. Jefferson and Mettenberger had very poor pocket awareness, and when you combine that with Mettenbergers 5.7 forty time, not a good recipe. They need to design the plays out of shotgun, have him roll or quick release, but the 29 step drop backs need to go.

Either way, I'm ready to sign any petition that pressures for a new OC, even if spending is not cut and taxes are increased for the rich.

The problem is not Mett or Alexander, it is a coaching staff that can't make decisions to help alleviate or solve the problem. This staff can't seem to make adjustments during the game. The problem is coaching or lack thereof.

Need to keep in mind that this is still a kid you are dealing with and the press was hounding him last night. Sort of felt for him. I understand that the RT did not have a good night, but tht coaching staff was to blame for not making adjustments, substitutions, etc.

I think Mett and others know a few things we dont and called out Vadal on purpose, and maybe, just maybe, everyone on the team is glad he did.

Maybe Vadal was screwing around all week/month and not doing what needs to be done to prepare. If so maybe Mett took the leadership role and called his sorry arse out.

What Im getting at is there is always information we dont know. Im positive Mett hasen't made a habit of doing that and had a damn good reason for it to happen.

That being said, our offense sucks dick with the amount of talent it has. Our OC is terrible at gameplan and THE HEAD COACH lets it all happen and obviously is on board with the dumb fricking philosophy of the schemes!

Im so sick of our corners playing 15 yds deep when we have the lead!!!!!!!

I'm not gonna be overly critical of Mett because the media is in the business of stirring crap up and creating controversy. They edit interviews, pick words apart, and even remove comments to get their desired result.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Mett's comments were part of a longer conversation. Nor, would I be shocked if a media person threw the OL under the bus, or asked Mett why the OL couldn't block for him.

At least Mett didn't say he played a great game while throwing for 50 yards like a previous QB.

Mett is all hype. Dude is an average qb and that's being generous.

He also overthrew Landry on the 2nd and 2
