this. not really trying to be critical; he just needs to get comfortable and learn the position before he takes a step up.

My mother would be an improvement over what we've had for the last four years. She actually still has a pretty good arm, but not so mobile outside of the pocket any more, but Mett looks exactly like what he is, a JUCO transfer that needs a lot of reps to play in this league, and he's still yet to play an SEC team. I think the size and speed of even weaker SEC teams will tend to overspeed the game for him. Let's hope he's a quick study, because he's got a ways to go before he's ready for Alabama.

I want Mettenburger to return next year because he is an awesome QB. All this talk about how high in the draft he would go or who on the defense goes pro is not relevant. I want him back and that is all that matters. When Mettenburger reads this post he will lock in his decision to stay.

With the high profile QB's coming out this year, I think Mett will come back next year. Barkley , Wilson , Jones etc

He might also take offense to you misspelling his name and decide to leave.

Still want to enjoy this season, but do you think Mett coming back would affect Montgomery and Mingo's decision about next year?

If you're projected has the #1 or #2 y your position, there is nothing good that can come out of coming back to school

ridiculous if he left...still alot to improve about his game, no matter how this year ends up.

I remember a QB for Auburn that threw for a total of 527 yards in his first 3 games back in 2010 and nobody would have conceived him heading to the NFL after the season more less being the #1 overall pick.

Yes, but I mean come on. Auburn? Who would stay there?

Plus, they couldn't afford him for another year.

Peyton stayed another year at Tenn. so that he wouldn't be drafted by the then perpetual losers the Saints.

Or because our wrs havent been elite since bowe and doucet. Even ruben dropped ones he never should have. We still have some shite teams on the schedule plus an opportunity to play 14 games. Mett could easily break 3k.

Didn't Jamarcus have right around those same stats. Stats are nice but they aren't the most important thing scouts look at.

That being said, Mett will be back next year.

WVU QB throwing up some good numbers too. 88% completions, 9 TDs and no interceptions after his 1st two games.

Mett needs to join Honey Badger for one more season.

NFL teams don't look at stats. Stats are probably the last thing they consider. A lot of big stat guys go undrafted. They will assess Mett's arm strength, size, coach ability, and other intangibles. I think he could be a first rounder after this season.

Mett does not look like an NFL QB prospect at this point

Tall
Strong arm
Accurate deep ball
Accurate intermediate
Precision accuracy on short passes
Medium delivery time
Seems tough. Doesn't wimp out when he's hit
Moves very well in the pocket

Umm, he's a pro prospect. In fact, he might be the first QB taken this year. There's always a couple of idiot teams like the Raiders, but I'd be very surprised to see Barkley taken before him. Mett's gone; thanks for the BCS championship.

Lafell and Randle were both better than Early.

And to the other guy, no, Mingo and Sam will not be affected by Mett's decision at all. THIS was their year to come back. The only thing that could bring them back next year would be a devastating injury, and none of us certainly want that. They gone.
