Damm that sucks, I was hoping that Mett would have been able to play in the bowl game and show off one more time before he goes.

On the positive side Jennings gets to start in a big game before he takes over next season.

This is terrible for mett, this kid has gotten more than his fair share of rotten potatoes as a college qb.

so does LSU or those close to Mett make this official, or will this stay at our sources report but we can't confirm.

Damn shame for Zach.

Hopefully he'll make a complete recovery.

Thank you, Zach, for helping bring back some offensive joy to LSU.

wow not too surprised after seeing that leg on replay. It just got twisted like a pretzel. I would have loved to see mett have one last chance at hitting his wide outs but it's not to be. I am sure he is disappointed especially it being his last game as a tiger. I hope this doesn't ruin his NFL hopes. He is a solid standup guy and has represented his school admirably.

Thank you Zach! We hardly knew ya. What possibilities the last two seasons if not for lack of timely defense. You and your arm will be missed.

That said, the bowl game just got interesting. Here's to AJ and a successful debut as the starting QB for the LSU Fightin' Tigers!

On the brighter side, Mett gets his knee fixed probably by Dr. Andrews, rehabs and comes back much stronger.

AJ gets much needed experience for next year.

At this point, it is all about winning next year. Yes, I would like to win the bowl, but AJ getting a great experience is awesome. Finding out about next years players and the additional 15 practices is priceless.

Mett will be fine and probably drop as a draft pick.

What are the odds that him and his boy Murray both blow out their knees in their last home game

That in itself is extremely ironic if you ask me. Just crazy

I agree with the ESPN analyst... he won't fall too far in the draft order because he's not a mobile QB to begin with. Depending on how he does for Pro day/combine results, should be just fine.

I just feel bad for him that his season is ending this way.

I wonder if it was torn most of the year. He's been limping on that thing bad all season.

I've had the same thought.

It could have been partially torn...and he knew he was going to have to have surgery on it at the end of the season anyway.

The guy gutted it out and played very hard all year despite his injury.

From 24/7:
LINK

quote:

BATON ROUGE – LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger will miss the bowl game after suffering a season-ending knee injury during the fourth quarter of the Tigers’ 31-27 win over Arkansas last Friday in Tiger Stadium.

The specifics of Mettenberger’s knee injury will not be disclosed by the school, which remains consistent with head coach Les Miles’ policy on reporting injuries.

“We are very disappointed for Zach,” Miles said on Wednesday. “He’s been a tremendous leader for our team and he’s as a competitive a guy as I have ever been around. He’s had a great impact on our program.

“I know Zach will work extremely hard to rehabilitate his knee and I don’t anticipate this injury having any impact on what should be a great future in the NFL.”

That sucks , Mett has been a great tiger and I appreciate all of his hrd work . I wish him the best in healing and in the nfl . Now it's time for Jennings to get a month of reps and can't wait to see him start .
