We arrived at a back gate 1 hour 45 min before kickoff. It took 30 minutes to get into the stadium. Longest period of time I have ever taken to get into a stadium anywhere.

Prior to the start of the SEC champ game, they got cute and had everybody go through metal detectors, like security checkpoints at airports. The result was the same as at the Georgia game in Baton Rouge last year: thousands of people in a mass waiting to get into the stadium. I saw 2 of the plaza areas outside the gates packed with people from stadium to street.

whatever they're trying to stop with the metal detectors from getting in the game could definitely do just as much damage in those massive clumps of people waiting to go through them. Seems pretty counterproductive.

Yes we got there about an hour an a half early and no line. We heard it backs up within the hour though.

Not that bad, do it all the time for falcons/Braves/united games. It makes it go pretty smooth, just make sure to have your brightness up.

Yep. We and many other fans missed kickoff by walking up to the gates about 45 mins before kickoff.

Problem is this stadium which has seats around ALL sides, only has four gates and they only serve HALF of the stadium's exterior:
