40 years old, has been the head coach at VCU since 2012. Took the Rams to a Super Regional in 2015 and has had a winning record there every year. Averaging over 35 wins per season since 2014.

You want to actually talk about legit possibilities for a new baseball coach, lets start there.

Could use one of those. Use the freed up cash to get a hitting coach.

I’d rather Canny. SEC experience, took a shite pitching staff to a Super in his first year.....and don’t lie, even though we swept him, he had this board nervous.

What in God’s name would make you think we would go for someone a a lower tier school. We are the Duke , UNC Kansas( u get my drift ) of baseball . Point is we need a proven coach in the same tier who wants to coach at the Pinnacle in College. Anyone who says different is lying LSU is “The” top job in college baseball.

No way. We need to hire a proven head coach at the power 5 level in baseball. Woodward doesn't frick around. He will get a big time name to coach baseball at LSU. You can book that shite.

The guy has never even made it to omaha and you would hire him to be the baseball head coach at LSU? That's dumb.

Want to guess what Skip Bertman was doing before he came to LSU?

Another name... Erik Bakich.

41 years old, has had a winning record every season he's been at Michigan (2013). Wolverines improved their win total every year from 2013-2017 and it looks like this year they are going to win the Big Ten title. This season will be the third time Michigan makes a regional under Bakich, which is no easy matter for the Big Ten.

Skip was never even a head coach before he came to LSU.

What a dumb hire that was.

What about someone who has won a natty at fricking coastal carolina? Give me Gary Gilmore, who has proven he can win a national title at a program like coastal Carolina over your guy from vcu.

You mean the guy who has been at Coastal for 26 seasons?

He's not leaving.

We are a much higher profile job now than we were then. Skip built this program from the ground up to what LSU baseball is today. We are in a totally different position than we were in then. We don't need to take a chance on a guy that hasn't even made it out of a super regional. We need a proven coach. There are plenty of coaches that have made it to super regionals. Some of them may be great coaches, and this guy from vcu may be a great coach, but LSU needs someone who has been there, done that, and knows how to win championships. The LSU baseball head coaching job is the best gig in the country in college baseball. We can and will hire a coach that not only has potential, but one who has proven himself as well.
