I hate the mound visit 30 second time limit a lot more than I hate the pitch clock

Completely agree. The umpires have always had the discretion to break up mound visits as they see fit. Can pitchers now leave the mound to meet the coach at the foul line?

Today was a great example of how the whole thing is counter productive. There were several ball and strike “penalties” that were assessed with nobody really having an idea of what was going on. On the broadcast they talked about the possibility of miking up the umpires. I guess that would help, but still seems like ignoring the bigger problem…

Replay!!! Feels like they’re trying to shorten the game to account for some of these stupid replays

didn’t get pitchers and other players some much needed work.

Much needed work may be a stretch. We are talking about 6 outs, you are essentially emptying the bench.

I am an old guy but why do media personality’s like Leah Van think shorter games are better? Do they get to go home and play with their cats earlier?

If you want the game to continue to grow, you need to make it as palatable as possible for tv viewers. Getting it done in 2.5 - 3 hours does that.

I have a feeling the pitch clock rules are going to benefit LSU much more than they’ll hurt. With LSU’s offense LSU will be battering a pitcher and the pitcher won’t be able to stall to catch his breath. A pitcher can’t hide with the clock rules now.

There’s a happy medium out there; hopefully they seek it
This is the happy medium. There was no happy medium before.

I don't understand the want to sit at a baseball game for 4+ hours when an hour of that is absolutely nothing going on. That shite sucks. No one wants to watch that unless you're a hardcore baseball fan. And that doesn't even make sense. Why would anyone want to watch nothing for an hour?

They won't be reverting back from this, so y'all better get used to it.

This is just silly. Games don’t need to be 3.5 or 4 hours to be pure. I love the pace of play rules. Keeps the game flowing.

They do need to tweak some things but for the most part I agree. I love baseball but I’m not sure why people are infatuated with sitting at a ballpark for 4 hours mostly watching nothing happening.

The mound visit needs to be changed. I’m cool with putting a timer on it but 30 seconds is too short. I also think you should get more than one pick off move to reset the clock. Two opportunities to reset the clock with a pick off sounds reasonable.

I also never understand why in this “shorten the game” bs they never talk about shortening replays. If you can’t determine a play should be overturned or not in 2 minutes there isn’t enough video evidence.I say this about all sports not just baseball.
