I know that. I was using him as an example of players falling because of “reports.”

Are you telling me the Cowboys murdered his baby momma so that he could potentially implicated, thereby having him fall out of the draft where they were one of 32 teams with a chance to sign him?

That's some next level shite. Pretty sick and I don't support it, but well played Jerry.

Or you're just an idiot.

The NFL uses character issues to mean about a thousand different things.

One of them could be that he has an interest in something other than football. Or that he has his own opinions. They want football robots, not people.

Jesus, these guys, with literally millions on the line, can't suck it up and stay on the straight and narrow for 6 months?

If true, that's amazing he'd work so hard for the last three years and throw it away over the last few months.

You said it was a "tactic teams use". Saying someone has character issues is something that a team could do if they want a player to fall. Getting him vicariously implicated on a murder and interviewed by police is not something they can do. Also, they didn't draft him. So it wasn't a strategy for anyone.

Supposedly, he missed interviews and did not impress those he interviewed with. This makes no sense to me at all! I CALL BS!!!

Why doesn't it make any sense? If it happened it happened.

I don't think anyone has any doubts about his talent. And I don't think the media has a vendetta against Guice. Maybe he's ruining his own status.

That said, I still can't see him lasting until the 4th round. He should've been a first but I don't see that happening.

This is not unheard of to avoid going to a team you don’t to. Guessing the missed meetings were with the Browns and the other scourge of the league.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Maybe the Steelers or another good team that really wants him told him to skip out on meetings with other teams because they really want him.

That team could draft you early or it could backfire on you and you could be left sitting there for while. It's a pretty big risk to take for the person being drafted.

His character concern is his lack of maturity. It’s what every analyst is saying and it’s evident from just looking at his social media account. He will be alright if he goes to a team with a good mentor to keep him grounded, but whoever is advising him should’ve told him to keep a low profile in the draft process, rather than trying to draw as much attention as possible to himself.

That wouldn't be very smart to tank interviews because a team you want to be drafted by told you to.

They could have all the intentions of taking you at a certain point but then someone else they have higher on the board becomes available to them and they have to shift course.

no, you go to every meeting. The more teams interested in you, the better.

Very few players should ever try to avoid getting drafted by a particular team. Recipe for disaster. Just get drafted as high as you can and get paid handsomely.

The only annoying thing about Guice is he pats himself on the back more than most and is very twitter happy. But none of that should affect his draft stock
