You can only hit against the pitcher pitching to you. But it’s obvious he didn’t just hit because of the competition. The dude can fricking hit. It’s obvious. And also because JJ has put him in the lineup in the 5th or 6th hole literally every game we’ve played. He clearly thinks Jobert is the superior hitter.

Clearly not good enough to make up for the gap in offensive production Jobert gives you over Gio. And there’s pretty good evidence for this in the fact that Jobert keeps getting penciled into the lineup every day and Gio does not.
