The question that I have is why weren't they working just hard last year?

Nobody said they didn't work hard last year.

it's all just player-speak.

Nothing matters until we see what happens on the field 12 Saturdays in the fall.

I'm reserving all judgment until then.

Jesus can we come back now that the “they weren’t working hard last year” crowd is gone. Can we answer the real question???

They were not allowed because of COVID.
The experienced players/leaders left the team for NFL.
Np spring practice nor weight room for freshmen.
New defensive system. New coordinator who was outdated in coaching young athletes.
The team played better as the season progressed and they learned their responsibilities.

This and a failed recruiting class that should have been upper class men.

Dude, I know this is your schtick, but come on. That is exactly what he said.

No, it is not.

His statement easily could be interpreted as two separate statements.

I think you are looking too hard at statement, I think he is just saying things are getting better with COVID restrictions. Everyone is working hard and getting better, then he extended an olive branch saying he is still welcome back and he might as well just stick around.

wow, that's a whole truckload of excuses. Other teams had to deal with Covid and a new coordinator too. And no, we didn't play better as the season progressed. We gave up 600 yards to Florida and 558 to Ole Miss.

But let the excuses flow.

No those are explanations not excuses. If you don’t have good experienced players you will be beat by teams that do.

No other team was as inexperienced as LSU.

Go back to sleep gramps.

I don’t take this tweet to mean they weren’t working hard last year. I take it as McGlothern is a good dude that is trying to help his boy get right.

It’s just encouragement man. I’d rather him be telling Arik this rather then “you made the right decision”

I don’t think this tweet is anything other than a guy seeing what’s going on like we are and trying to help his buddy.

Probably the most important part. shite just wasn't right last season for a myriad of reasons. Players not really buying in to the coaching of the DC and to some degree the OC were the biggest reasons for 5 & 5....We'll see.

That was pretty obvious on defense. Also pretty obvious on offense with the slooooooow start against State and when not able to get the TD late against Mizzou.

Hopefully we come out hungry this year
