Not true. I am sure that the giants reached out to him after Daboll was fired and he would have probably taken that job if interested.

Is the bama job really an upgrade from LSU for a guy like Lane? I think the resources are pretty similar. At LSU you don't have to follow the shadow of a Saban dynasty. Less recruiting competition. Bigger city, close to New Orleans and the Gulf of America.

He's going to do to us what he did to TENN and OM.

Just hope he wins a couple of championships before that happens.

Zero chance lol. I don’t understand why anyone would want to go to bama and live in the shadow of what nick and bear did . Here at lsu he has his chance to make his own dynasty run . His own legacy.

You clearly didn't listen to this. He said he was waiting on the results of the Bama/Auburn game because it may have impacted his coaching in the SEC Championship game. He had already purchased a house in BR.

McShay is making assumptions, no concrete proof Lane wanted Bama job over LSU. He might have wanted before LSU came open. But I think other than Saban being there as a consultant or whatever he is, LSU and Bama are 1a and 1b

Chance for what?

That OM might make the SEC Conference Championship game and he could coach them for one more week?

Call me a homer if you want, but with Saban out of the picture, LSU is flat out the better job. No state competition for talent, elite resources, and a ceiling higher than anyone in the SEC in my opinion. Downvote away

Thoughts?

I mean he'll definitely leave for Bama if they come calling. It's what he does

Only Bama fans think their HC job is the most desirable on earth.
Last time, in 2024, they got turned down by Sarkisian, Lanning, and Norvell. If DeBoer fell through they were hiring Tommy Rees.

Saban flat out told Kiffin, in his opinion, the LSU job is the best in the country. That DeBoer was on the hot seat in November tells you all you need to know about that job. I believe, all things equal, the best job is probably Texas. Unlimited funds, good city, great facilities, mild weather. High expectations, but manageable.

Kiffin wanted Bama in 2024 because it is a step up from Ole Miss. if successful in Baton Rouge, he’s not leaving unless their is a dump truck of cash backed up to his door.

I do think he likely would have taken Bama over LSU
Water under the bridge now
He chose LSU over Florida though

McShay also said Lane was remarried to his ex-wife, which isn’t true.

He’s speculating — nothing more.

Fans would be delusional to think he retires here. Just sit back and enjoy the next 3-4 years (hopefully). Just like Ole Miss, LSU has big brothers too.

Don't kid yourself. Winning cures all things related to athletics. If Kiffin pushes Bama's shite in over the next few years, you can believe they will be calling.

Yep.

A chance to coach there or a chance to play in the SEC championship game?

One I believe, the other I question.
