I don’t want to leave the conference but frick the SEC. I don’t root for most of em anyways. Can’t remmeber the last time I wanted a west team to win when not playing another west team.

It is not petty. It is very understandable.

For one, it is not in our interest to pull for any team that regularly recruits the same players we do. So, automatically, no Tiger fan should ever pull for Alabama and now Texas A&M.

For some reason, I'm more ok pulling for Georgia but I think it helps that they were our best win this year.

Not petty, but narcissistic, insane, and made-up.

Cheering for SEC teams in bowl games is still a thing? I remember people doing this 12-15 years ago, but not so much the past 5-7 years. I think the SEC proved their point as a dominant conference years ago. This was back when people thought the conference wasn’t getting any respect. Those days are long gone.

I have since revised to any non-Bama SEC team. The W-L records for conferences in bowls is still a thing they talk about a bunch, would prefer SEC be at the top.

I think strength or perceived strength of the conference is still important and a reason why we are still ranked in the top 10.

That being said it’s not hard to understand why others think differently

I hope they all lose. I could care less that it makes the conference look weak.

I've been over that for a couple years. Cheering S-E-C S-E-C made sense in the 00s after undefeated Auburn got shut out of the national championship game but now I hope every SEC team besides LSU loses as often as possible. Screw everyone else.

Should be easy every year to NOT root for the SEC

I hope they all lose.

Why anyone cares how the SEC is perceived is mind boggling.
The more they all lose and the more we win only helps LSU.

I’ll root for Vandy and UGA against teams I dislike, but I’m not rooting for Bama, A&M, Auburn, Ole Miss or Florida..ever!

I bet Washington State fans wished their conference didn’t look weak.

Yeah, it was a big help to us in 2011

In the regular season it can help your SOS. For the lower tier bowls it doesn’t really matter, I root for my picks in Bowl confidence pool. But in the playoffs and NC, it is and has always been beyond stupid to root for a conference, let alone division rival.

Probably wish they didn’t lose to USC and Washington too.
If your conference is weak, then win all the games.

Doesn’t matter, they didn’t win their division so would have zero shot at the playoffs regardless. If they had won the 2 games they lost, they would peobobe in but if they are concerned about SOS, rather than cheering for rivals they could improve their OCC schedule

I never have pulled for the SEC except for the possible exceptions of teams like Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Why pull for teams that you recruit against?

of course you're correct. And I'll be one of the minority who admits to cheering for the SEC.

I have some sense of pride knowing that our conference is the strongest in the country and that our schedule is a much tougher one than the ACC, Pac-12, etc.
