Maybe Nuss running is not the answer

If he gets laid out like JD5 did last year (we all know how much SEC refs love the Gumps!) then we will be totally screwed!.
What we have on the bench right now is not even close to as good as the Reed kid at aTm.

Its not THE answer but it is something he has to do to help out the run game.

ITS THE frickING ANSWER WHEN YOU RUN RPO
Posted on 10/30/24 at 8:37 am to Tshiz
Does Nuss run or pass if it’s RPO?
Posted on 10/30/24 at 8:39 am to Tshiz
Do you even know what an RPO is? It’s a run pass option for the RB or receiver, not a zone read.

Holy shite I can't believe this is still a thing. Please shut the frick up if you have no idea what you are talking about.

Nuss seems to do a good job in RPO quickly deciding to handoff or pass. We don’t get called for lineman downfield near as much as most others.
A&M ran zone read with the backup.

No he has the option to hand the ball off or pass

Nuss is trying to be everything on Offense because we are running out of options
This is the 1st year in a long time where we have just a Slightly above average WR core. With no absolute star on the outside.
Even though our WR's aren't bad, we have 0 run game to help them out and we don't have a Chase/Jefferson or a Malik/BTJ combo to just say frick it, go catch the ball and score.
I'm not chalking this shite up on Nuss, a 1st year starter. The play calling is doing him no favors.

Correct.
Nuss does not need to run but he does need to keep it occasionally on the zone reads to keep the defense honest.

If the WRs are covered and there is a gaping hole to run to and slide for a much needed 1st on third down, you do it to help win in a close game.
You don’t insanely chuck it deep and hope for a TD.

I agree with this but has nothing to do with the post I responded to when they guy said Nuss should run the ball on RPO plays

How in the hell would he do that? Thats not how RPOs work..

LSU will not win a title or championship if Nuss doesn't learn how to run and take the easy yards. LSU run game sucks but it sucks even more when the defense knows the QB is not a running threat.

Boys it's not rocket surgery.
We run zone concepts. When you aren't good at blocking zone concepts + your QB will never pull it and run with the ball = the defenders literally only keying on our RB making it damn near impossible to run effectively with that scheme (if you are shite at blocking the run, which we are)
