re: Maybe LSU compliance isn’t the problem after all

Compliance only tests football. Do you think this was her first time smoking pot? The guy in charge of compliance prior to 7/1 is a Dale B disciple. They hate football, football players and all of the attention they receive. You never heard of any other athlete getting tagged for smoking pot. Do you think only football players smoked it ? Can anyone name a basketball player that was suspended for any length of time for failing a drug test the last 30 years?

Look dude, marijuana being illegal is dumb and the athletes smoking a J before competition is dumb. It's not the binary either/or situation you're making it out to be.
Both can be (and are) true.
ETA: Maybe she should have pounded a bottle of liquor instead. Most of you have no issues with that because hey, it's legal!

Don't you know that only half of Tyrann Mathieu got suspended when that whole debacle went down..?
Do some research before you come on here spouting off your nonsense.

You don’t speak on my behalf. I was her age AND I had to make the decision wether my parent continued to live as a vegetable or not. Got up the next day and didn’t smoke weed. Why because I wasn’t supposed to do that.
No empathy from me.

True, but you can't be caught smoking weed at Alabama, if they want you on the team. Recruits apparently like that little detail, and my guess is that it is the final determinant in many recruiting wars between LSU and Bama....and others.

What part of smoking weed makes it enhancement for competing?

Dude.....LSU had nothing to do with her testing, she is no longer at LSU!!!

Forget the debate about whether marijuana should be legal or illegal
It matters, though. You are looking at this from a more mature perspective. 18 - 22 year olds care too much about the way they think things should be and too little about the way things actually are.

That girl just said she found out her mother died during an interview. Heard it out of her mouth on KATC.
Who would ever let them happen?

The statement I read sounded like she took responsibility for her misjudgment. 20 y/o's do stupid shite, I sure did. It just hurts after all she sacrificed, the pain, the training. But, if she owns up, she will gain from this, especially financially.
