fray - frayed

lay - laid

pay - paid

Despite the spelling, at least those past tenses all rhyme.

say - said

And bay, may, nay and way aren't even verbs

English is funny.

Standing up to in front of another to cheer a big play is one thing, but standing up in front of another for 3 hrs or 60 mins of game play is another.

We all need to try to allow everyone who takes the time out of their day and money out of their wallet to support LSU/go to events to enjoy doing so the best we can.

When you talking 93,000 at the games, that means you gonna have to be willing to take part in some give and take. imo

Bottom line...there is a reason your ticket comes with a seat #.

Stadium regulations state you cannot continually stand, only on big plays, anthems, etc. Ushers will remove repeat offenders. If you MUST stand, finish high school, do good on SAT, enroll at LSU and STAND in the student section, you insufferable lout!

1) I have NEVER asked someone in front of me to sit.

2) I will stand if the people in front of me stand. But only after trying to see around them first.

3) Otherwise, I will mostly sit, and stand when "necessary" (big plays, defensive stands, etc.) out of courtesy to the people behind me.

Well the OP hasn't specified as to whether it was due to him standing the entire game or only a handful of plays. Nor has he specified whether The people in front of him were standing.

If its a big play/kickoff/3rd down/the people in front of me are standing, I'm un-assing and not asking those behind me for permission. I think this is commonly accepted game etiquette. If anyone has a problem with this, then they are showing me just as much disrespect as you're admonishing this guy for having.

Nearly everyone below me was standing, I agree that standing the entire game is not necessary. Big plays, 3rd & 4th downs and all the usuals of course. I think I am pretty respectful during games, but I get pumped for the Tigers! FWIW I did sit after the rows in front started sitting.

I nearly lost it with the halfback pass from Ware to Landry...executed perfectly IMO

You paid for a seat. You didn't pay to block everyone behind you who can't see because of your rudeness. I would have poured my coke on your head.

now that i am older i don't always stand. sitting is what us old codgers do. however, when the people in front of me stand to cheer or watch a close play, i stand too. if the game is lopsided i may just sit and figure out what happened. there is no friggin' way i would ever tell the people in front of me to sit down. i'm glad that we still have lots of vocal fans that get into the game passionately. if i couldn't stand, i'd either sit the whole game or not go. i firmly believe it is your right to stand as long as it is in your space and wouldn't even consider doing anything except sharing my flask with them.

I can understand people asking someone to sit down if they stand TOO MUCH, but I actually had a guy in front of me ask if I could not cheer so loud, because it was hurting his ears

Could have been worse , you could have been the guy sitting next to me that got chewed out the entire 2nd half by his SO b/c he drank a bit too much and swore the entire time and drew a bit too much attention to himself in the first half...

Why do you thing security kicks you out for standing?

yup. and they are enforcing it bigtime the last couple of years compared to decades past.

real simple. if nobody in front is standing sit down. The ones i have seen get kicked out were the ones standing when everybody in front was sitting down. Now i like to stand also but i will not do it when nobody in front of me is doing it. no need to. now i will stand during halftime...don't as k me to sit down then.

I havent seen them kick someone for just simply standing. Now if its standing on the seat ive seen them kicked or if its someone doing more than standing and cheering then they will get kicked.

firstly, i do think it is inappropriate to stand the WHOLE game.

It is not unreasonable to stand EVERY DEFENSIVE third down at Tiger Stadium, and many fans will stand the majority of the first quarter.

but... your 4- and 8-year olds standing is not the same as you standing. It is unlikely that anyone has to stand behind your two children to see the game.

At the Arky beatdown last year we had a guy on our row asking the kids in front of him to sit down. I messed with this guy. I asked how long it had been since he had been to a game? I said, remember what it was like when we were younger? I got him fired up! By the time TM7 was waiting to receive the punt he returned for a TD this guy was all fired up and would not sit down.
