I like to stand, but if everyone else around me is sitting, I'll follow suit. I'll stand up and cheer when something happens, but I won't be that one guy that's constantly standing if no one else is.

Didnt read all 10 pages of this but can tell there is mixed emotions on the issue. Long story short, I was thrown out of the VT game for standing after being warned only once. I asked, "when can I stand" and I was told "only during Big Plays" Thats horseshite. every play id big to me, regardless if its Offense, defense, or we are up 80-0. If I was blocking the view of Kids, Or little old ladies, or handicaped people, I would gladly swap with them. If you are able bodied, Stand up for Christ sake. Sit down during commercials, Half time etc. Go look up videos of games from the 80-s and 90s. I remember seeing the Florida Game from 97. Every time they came back from commercial, No one was sitting in the entire place. Thats what Made TS what it is. not the spoiled fans that want to turn it into a fricking tea Party. Its sad that TS use to be louder with Less people. If you want to sit on your arse and watch football, Please go follow the Big 10.

you're an idiot. Why do you think they call it a "seat". The people who design stadiums design them for 92,000 to have a place to SIT!!! Since you are only thinking about yourself, I'll enlighten you. Many older people have trouble standing up for 3 hours or 5 minutes. Maybe bad hips, knee, foot...whatever!!! They pay good money to go to the game also. I'm glad you know people who have gotten kicked out. They deserve it. Have a nice day !!

So they get up on the morning and get dressed, then proceed to drive/ride to the game. I don't recall seeing handicap parking in front of the stadium so I'll assume they walked at least a somewhat reasonable distance to get there. Then, proceeded to stand in line or walk around or chill with family until the game arrived. Then, walked to their seats along with everyone else to the stadium to attend a very rowdy sporting event.

GTFO with that BS response, if they can get their happy asses to the stadium to watch a football game they can also deal with what that comes with. I paid for that seat, I'll do a damn hand stand in my seat if I want. If you want to control the damn place you're in watch it at your home, and let the people who are going to go and enjoy themselves do the same.

So this arguement only applies to you....or can it be reversed for the dumbasses who obstruct other paying fans views?

Personally, I have to stand occasionally, big play or not, because my back is killing me by the 2nd quarter - due to the seat being uncomfortable as frick.

Problem is, people in Tiger Stadium go to the games expecting it to be like they're sitting in their lazy boy at home.

The Arky game in 2007 I sat next to this old man who had a walker and an oxygen tank. He was standing and screaming for every important down

One of the loudest times Ive ever heard Tiger Stadium. Arkansas scored on the next play. I was standing and so was everyone in the stadium. It didn't effect the outcome. They scored and we eventually lost.

Standing does not win or lose football games.

(So stand when needed, but be respectful to others around you and don't be a jackass all game)

I hate the idiot who stands when the entire section is sitting. Dude, you are being a dick. Sit your arse down. If you don't want to be courteous to other people around you then go home and watch it by yourself.

Stand when everyone else is standing. Encourage your section to stand up too but if they don't sit your butt down.

Must have been you in front of me at the TN game at the GA dome a few yrs back. We came in sat down and this LSU fan and his girl friend were standing up 15-20 mins before kickoff. They were actually two rows in front of us but blocking our view of the field (we were in the corner of the end zone so we had a limited range of sight to watch the game and here are two people standing shoulder-to-shoulder). They didn't want to sit down even when several people asked them politely and told they couldn't see. People stood when something was exciting, but just to stand? Go somewhere else, not the sitting area.

Wasn't me,I didn't take My wife to ATL that year. I sat on the 20, About 15 rows up in nothing but Tennessee fans. I told the guy behind me who was from TN that I hope He didn't mind if we stood, he said "Naw man, We goin to stans all game, just as soon as I finish mixing ma drink." Everyone in our section stood the whole game, all Tennessee fans in freaking ATL.

Just be considerate of people around you, is it that hard really? If you are blocking someones view sit down. Its not that hard, when its time to stand, everyone is standing. Sit when everyone sits. If you are standing up in front of people and everyone around you is sitting, than you are an inconsiderate jerk.

I'm guessing that the people whose vision you are blocking didn't pay for their seats which would make your position superior to theirs.

Sort of like your controlling who does and who does not get to view the field? Based upon your own logic, it appears that YOU ae the one that chuld stay home.

quote:

let the people who are going to go and enjoy themselves do the same.

Providing that only those who stand and block the view of others are entitled to enjoy the game which of course includes the pure joy of denying others the same privilege?

IS it me or do you sould like some spoiled 3 year old brat?

I used to get very angry/stubborn when someone behind me told me to sit down, now I'm a little more aware of my surroundings and compromising. If the people behind me are sitting, I try to sit down.

I will only stand now if it's a big moment (3rd/4th down, 4th quarter, etc) or if everyone is already standing. Sometimes I have to sit when I would prefer to be standing, but I've learned that I get as much enjoyment sitting/standing and don't have to deal with any arguments/fights with the people behind me. I'm not as "I'll stand whenever the frick I want and you should be standing too" as I used to be.

All that said, if given the choice, I'd rather stand the entire game.

ETA: Also, I would NEVER ask someone in front of me to sit down.

Glad you enjoy being a douche at the games. I'm guessing the guy that asked you to sit was old. Sounds like you set a great example for your kids...
