well said OP, but the pieces IMHO have been there for years...we always are near or at the top...a few plays here and there and we win a nc (as in 07 or 03) or just miss. But agree, future remains bright and next two years IMHO look better than past two..which were not at all bad...

Maybe I am too positivie about the program

It's a bit ridiculous how some "supposed" LSU fans label Tiger fans with a positive attitude as "biased".

Why the f**k shouldn't we be? I think we'll be the best damn team in the country very soon- and there's nothing that those suffering from Sports Depression can do about it.

Damn right. LSU is the winningest program in the country in the last 9 years (coincidentally when Miles arrived), along with Boise St.

We are the ONLY program in the country to:
* Have a winning season and go to a bowl game EVERY YEAR THIS CENTURY;
* Win 9 bowl games this century,
* And also accomplish (in conjunction with the above)
- 5 Top Five teams
- 7 Top Ten teams,
- 10 Top Fifteen teams,
- 9 Ten-Win-or-Better teams.
- At least 8 Top Ten or better recruit classes.

Miles has only lost 7 home games in 9 years. Seven.
And only 2 Saturday night games. Two.
And only 2 non-conf. games - PSU and Clemson.

Of Miles 24 losses, he's only been routed or outclassed in FOUR games with no possible chance to win - 4 games in 9 YEARS:
Georgia '05, Ole Miss '08, and 'Bama 1/9/12 AND (maybe) '13 - and only ONE of those was at home.

Conversely, Saban in five years at LSU suffered 7 routs with no chance to win: Florida '00, Florida '01, Texas '02, Auburn '00 AND '02, Alabama '02, Georgia '04, PLUS lost embarrassing last second defeats to UAB in '00, Arkansas in '02, and 'Iowa in '04.
No one seems to remember Saban's bad clock management in those games, plus the loss to Ole Miss in '01.

"We're good but we definatly got some things to fix if we wanna win it all"

The focus on "winning it all" seems to me to be part of the problem. We obviously want to build toward that goal and aim for it, but it makes it difficult to enjoy anything else - even a lot of winning. What I look for is a team that is consistently very good and that can win it all when the pieces come together. Aside from Bama, no one in the nation has met these criteria any better than we have. Alas, they are in our division and we have to play them every year.

Yes! The fact is, since 2000 LSU football has had the absolute most consistent run it's ever had. No other program can boast what's been accomplished in that span of time. That would include the "dynasty" a couple of states over.

No matter what level of griping we see from the usual suspects, LSU Football is alive & well- and will be on top of the college football world, very soon.

We have good talent, but a lot of unknowns. So I think your post is premature, unless you want to hold hands and sing kumbaya......

Both the Offensive and Defensive backfields will be out of this world for AT LEAST the next three years.

I look for a repeat of 2010/11 the next two year.

Good strong team 2014, Elite in 2015.
