I liked the “satellite plate” which became the “dilly plate.” Give me the jumbo chopped beef with mac and chews, mashed potatoes and gravy, chocolate pudding with whipped cream from the front and a Coke.

Grew up on Lorraine St and the same routine was often followed by my family. If it was 11:30 mass at St Gerard, there was a good chance a dilly plate was soon to follow! Good times
