Sure. But if it’s a close race between 2 guys and the last player from one of the schools didn’t bother to respond to your phone calls, well...

Yes, you're going to show Joe how to run his life

Time to exit the thread brother. You're just digging yourself a deeper hole.

His parents spoke on his behalf. He should be a man of his word, period.

Well he should then set the record straight. He hasn't done anything apparently.

What the F does that have to do with anything, even if true.

If he said he was going, they wouldn't have tried to confirm with him. Obviously he never said he was going or they wouldn't be trying to contact him.

Jesus you guys are about as stupid as mud sitting at the bottom of the swamp.

1 - Joe or his reps should be responding and not leaving these people in the dark. No real excuse for that and I’m surprised by it to be honest.

#2 - Unless he had a really good reason, I think he should be there. If his reason is just “I’m tired of going to awards banquets” I think it’s something he might look back on 5, 10 years from now and regret having not attended.

It says that Chase Young will be there for the Bednarik Award. Not a great look when the other college player shows up and you don’t.
i agree with all of this.

I understand that sentiment completely. But this isn't Jimmy Kimmel asking him to make an appearance on his show.

He’s training in California, so it’s a 2 day trip at the absolute minimum and really probably a 3 day trip. I imagine if it was in LA he’d go.

But if it was in LA and he was not going to go, would he bother to tell them?

Nah he's not whipped. He's just a young arrogant alpha who plays ball. He's not too big on all the peripheral bullshite. I'm so glad this is the case too because it's why he dominated college football like none before him this past season.

So do we all hate Joe now? College Football National championship, don’t care. Most exciting offense in college football history, so what. Heisman, got one. Etc., etc., etc.

But he didn’t rsvp to this Maxwell House thingy so he’s dead to us. Erase his name from the LSU history books.

MFC Awards is a GREAT time. Its like a big tailgate party in tuxedos. It is pretty prestigious and well respected in the football community. My nephew won their version of a "community spirit" award after 2011 season. TM7 won the Bednarik that year. They were actually paired for most of the media and ancillary events in the few days leading up to the banquet. Archie Manning got one of their awards that year too it was a real blast!

My nephew was born with only 1 hand and at age 6 was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. There has been some negative energy in the thread so I thought I'd bring a little positive story with a Maxwell connection. Link below to an article about him.

I'm not here to pass any judgment on Joe I am not privy to his reasons and I love his badass for the season he just help give us fans. I will say he is going to miss one hell of a party!

shite, I'm sure he just wants to take some time to be with his family and friends, and his girlfriend without having any crap going on. He has been doing stuff all over. I would want to just chill and be left alone for awhile too. He is the type to focus on something with 100 percent of his ability and I'm pretty sure he's preparing for the nfl right now and being the best player and leader he can be for the Bengals. He's just that type of guy. He doesn't want all the publicity and recognition and praise. He just wants to play football and be himself. What's wrong with him doing that? It's his life and these are going to be the biggest life changing months coming up for him. Let Joe do Joe.

“It is frustrating. I am frustrated not so much for us, but I am frustrated for our guests who come out to see Joe,” said Maxwell Football Club executive director Mark Wolpert, who’s been a senior administration with the Maxwell Football Club for two decades and associated with the organization since 1994.

“I’m frustrated for our partners, for our host at the event and our associated partners with what we do at the Maxwell Football Club – they’re excited to see Joe Burrow. And rightfully so.
