Not sure if Vegas has odds out on our QB competition or not? I’m not a betting man. But, if so, put the house on Max! You can thank me later ;)

No way Myles loses this job healthy to a Sophmore. I don't see it. It would be a spit in the face to him in my opinion. He waited his turn, played well before his injury. Max's time will come.

I agree with that the other poster. It's nothing against Max, it's actually a great 'problem' to have.
Myles has been there seemingly forever and if we hadn't gotten so spoiled from Joe, Myles stats would've been eye popping before he got injured. I just don't see a true sophomore being put above Myles.
I just can't see him not starting the first game. Again, it's a good problem to have, all these QBs ready to go.
Both are participating with the 1s, that's awesome. I'm looking forward to the first game.

Can you elaborate on why you think that? Is it just because he’s “waited his turn” or “his stats are better” because I’ve rewatched every game from last season and all I see is a 4th year player that has developed no pocket presence despite being the veteran while a true freshman handled the pressure like he’s a 4th year player.

I hate saying Max is overrated because he played well.
But people Are acting like he never scrambled 10 yard backwards before taking a sack or the shoe ply didn’t happen after a 4 yard pass on 3rd and 10.
He was good against Ole Miss but Boutte
Was great.

I think they are using Max as a bit of extra motivation for Myles. No way he is taking this spot. Bookmark this comment.

This isn't true. Remind yourself of how he was injured last season.

This also isn't true. Max was comfortable in the pocket and had better scrambling skills, I'll agree. But Max also needs to develop more touch on his passes, just from his passes in the last couple games. And I'm not trying to dump on him. He was a true freshman, you expect some growing pains.
The truth is now that both guys are practicing with the 1s. That's a great thing to see.
It's not about "this guy should start" or "that guy deserves to start." Let's see how it pans out and support whoever does start.

Never a reason to start one player over another.

No but Draftkings has Max at 66-1 to win the Heisman and Brennan isn’t even listed. I think that says a lot.

Max adds the much needed running ability that Myles just doesn’t have

Put up points against awful defenses while looking terrible.

Unless he’s better by game 1. 2-0 as a starter helps his case.

I don’t think some in this thread know how important this is. Give me an athletic, mobile QB with Burrow arm strength over a statue with a cannon arm.

Dude Max Johnson isn’t even CLOSE to Brennan. He can run better. That’s it. Watch the first 3 games of 2020. Brennan is lights out. Max Johnson doesn’t have the arm or the accuracy.
I said this in another thread but I honestly doubt Max ever starts at LSU even after Brennan leaves, unless Nuss sucks.

Oh, he’ll start. Maybe not season but after that.

I mean he played well, but at no point in time did he look better than Myles, who also played behind a fat, out of shape OL who could barely hold a 3-point stance.

Wins and losses are team stats. Insane how people evaluate qb's and sp's based on if the team wins.
Peyton Manning was terrible on a superbowl winning season. Felix Hernandez went 13-12 on a cy young season.
