Still shocks me he transferred to A&M after throwing that dagger to end their season. He would have been the heavy favorite to win the starting position this year. Now at A&M, he has to compete against two other guys who both seem solid. I have nothing but respect for him, but I guess money talks?

Why?

A&M went after him to try to prove they aren’t our little brother. No other reason than that. It’s why they hired Nolan Cain too.

He was below average at best. Good riddance, he’ll fit right in at Gay&M.

Saw a highlight of him getting sacked during their spring game today, same old cement shoes panicked look.

This. We were all angry in the moment but Max is not a bad QB. He got wrecked often because of a terrible OL.

And his brother. Max will never see the field in meaningful minutes baring injury.

Dude, the line looked worse because he would just stand there holding the ball and get sacked/hit.

Much of it was directly on him....MOST of it

Stats don’t tell the whole story, his inability to sense pressure, and pocket awareness, and movement was pure dog shite. Yes he put up solid stats, but just because you do that doesn’t mean you’re a good player. Anybody with half an ounce of football knowledge, could tell Max Johnson wasn’t very good. Hell you talk about his stats, most of his stats come from Kayshon Boutte.

I don't think he was really any better than our current QB options

We upgraded at that position this year. I wish him success at A&M as long as he isn't playing LSU; for that game he can get sacked ten times
