I don't get all that hot and bothered over ULSU football any longer, but JAKE and Max to 8 & 4 really does!

I think that little episode when Daddy Nussmeier called to demand more playing time for Fartknocker Nussmeier and Shrimpy pulled Max in the Bama game really pissed off the entire Johnson Clan. (Fartknocker proceeded to stink it up when a more experienced MJ might have procured a win)

Why they're not giving Kelly a chance is beyond me, especially when BK is known for great OL and TE development at ND, so LSU would be a great landing spot for Jake.

But hey, no OC and no TE coach leaves too much doubt and we can only assume that they are too impatient to wait and see who BK will hire.

Total bitch move selecting 8 & 4 though, when Florida State (Where Daddy Brad played) was ready and available.......

Max’s dad was an NFL QB, uncle Mark Richt was a DI coach. This kid had been trained by the best. He will not get any better

I'm not sure I get this move, honestly. Haynes coming back, 5* freshman coming in, seems like there would be easier paths to a starting role elsewhere

Jimbo said today in his press conference he needed three QBs and he has two. He said he was going to look at the portal for another.

Maybe Eli Holstein can change commit to LSU for 2023...His Dad was a kicker for the Tigers.

He can join the ranks of the other quarterbacks that have played
for Jimbo that didn’t improve at all. It’s amazing all the highly ranked
QB’s he has coached that are basically the same skill level when they leave
as when they first arrive

Great I’m all for that ,

Max Johnson vs LSU
16 for 32
189 yards
1 TD , 2 INT
Sacked 4 times
Hit countless times

It’s hard being Tigerbait!!!

Exactly!! Max Johnson will be standing at practice and WATCHING...... The staff will use him as a trash can at practice. "Hey, backup kid, stand over there and give our edge rushers an aiming point into the backfield. It's not like you'll ever see the field."

I’m guessing Max and Brad wanted to be guaranteed the starting QB position in 2022. Any new coach taking over an existing roster of someone else’s recruits ain’t making that promise. The Johnson’s got their feelings hurt and were afraid of competition so they left.

The key phrase is “I’m guessing.” This sounded like a fun story in your head so you just went with it. Max is not leaving because he’s afraid to compete. A more common sense explanation is that this is a make or break year for Max and after being legally murdered every week and with no OC for next year there’s too much uncertainty and he wanted a fresh start.

He’s not transferring to A&M. The whole brothers thing is overblown. However, if he DOES, then wouldn’t that completely torpedo the “don’t want to compete” narrative? Haven’t seen anyone explain that one.

Maybe not ALL, but if Brennan doesn’t come back he would be by far the best option to start the season.

You don’t want to throw Howard out there game 1 coming off injuries, and Nuss is… just bad.

Johnson has a lot of flaws as a QB and really threw up on himself against Bama, but he’s had really good games and is coming off arguably his best considering the defense.

I think Howard is the future but Max is a much better transitional guy than Nuss. Obviously I’d rather Brennan over both.
