I think we saw this once his freshman year. The first play against McNeese. He got about 4 yards but Jeter missed a block. Then we never saw him on offense again.
Both Donte and Jazz were in on the first (and only series) of the McNeese game as TRUE freshmen. Got to at least admit that was a departure from the norm for that staff given the other tried and true options that were also at their disposal.

Didnt Chark take 2 of these to the house already, why do we need DJ doing this?
Does this mean Drake Davis is a bust? Dillon?
Are we giving up on Donte as a cover guy?

Fastest man is very debatable
Posted on 4/18/17 at 10:38 pm to tzimme4
No debate. He actually bettered his 60 mark to a 6.63 at the SEC Championship meet this year.
LSU defensive back Donte’ Jackson brings some serious speed to the football field.
Reportedly clocked at 4.24 in the 40-yard dash, he played as both a reserve corner and a kick returner for the Tigers this past year.
His speedy pace also translates for the LSU track and field team. In his first race on the collegiate level, Jackson ran the 60-meter dash in an eye-popping 6.66 seconds. It marked the fastest time for any college football player also competing in track.
Among football players, Jackson bettered the 6.70 run by Louisiana-Lafayette’s Jeryl Brazil in January.

It's about to get real guys!
Having a freaking DB running jet sweeps doesn't mean shite. Get back to me when we have a passing offense ranked in the top 50.

I'm sure you're the first one on every invite list for parties.

I'd rather see DJ running jet sweeps then running behind a receiver with the ball in his hands running down the sidelines!!!

They have a guy in Division II that's faster than him. Kevin Snead
He ran a 4.22 & 4.26 hand timed

We just had a RB have the best season in the history of the program. And you guys wanted us to run more jet sweeps? Want to talk about giving the ball to your best playmaker? Well they did that.
I'm all for some plays to throw off the defense, but I want the ball going to guice, not a cornerback.

A competent OC brings in Donte as a decoy for a few plays, then calls the play to him later in the game when the defense eases up. Ensminger actually did that a lot last season. Miles, not so much.
hell, when a certain set of players entered the game the defense pretty much knew the play that was to be run. jet sweeps don't work if the defense expects them

And ya really think that Canada is going to go away from Guice routinely huh? Dumb is dumb.

Finally, DJ with the ball in his hands. Donte and Chark running this routinely this year would be deadly

From the fact that some practice plays were run, you leap to the unfounded conclusion that therefore, Guice will not see the ball much and that the Tiger offense will be a jet sweep fest from now until eternity?

Jet sweeps don't work against good teams in the SEC

Then you don't think Alabama is a good team right? I can't stand them, but they run this a ton with their inaccurate QB and have a lot of success......
Alabama added the jet sweep to its ‘passing’ game with excellent results.
The jet sweep is an addition to the Alabama offense. Alabama Coach Nick Saban was asked which programs had been studied in revamping the offense. He listed Tom Herman, now head coach at Houston but at the time offensive coordinator at Ohio State, and visiting TCU.
“We watch a lot of film,” Saban said, “and we obviously see a lot of things like, in some cases, that we do now, that are difficult to defend, that we discuss as a staff. "Sometimes we implement it, sometimes we don't.
