Is that Moore? What a douche
Yep, and ESPN used to use that shot for an intro into sportscenter.

During the telecast it was mentioned that was a rule the college coaches pushed to have put in the rule book.
Who were the pussy coaches that asked for this?

It is giving refs way too much power. Why are we giving refs more power? Take power away from refs NCAA.

That gif makes me want to punch Moore in the vagina even more than I already wanted to.
And the taunting rule might be the dumbest rule in all of sports. No way should "shrugging" (best description I could think of) cause a TD to be reversed. It does nothing to help the score happen, and is 100% punitive in nature. they should immediately change it.

This never would've happened under Saban's rule...

I get and understand the rule and I think that this is NOT what the rule was supposed to be about.
It should have been a TD and if you want to call a penalty (which would still be questionable) then enforce it on the kickoff or extra point.
frick YOU REFS

Taunting should never be more than a dead ball foul. It has nothing to do with the play or its outcome. Worst rule ever, without question.
Tell me what it is that you understand about the rule, and why it makes sense to have it impact the live play?
Posted on 10/8/11 at 10:38 pm to TheShwenz
The problem I have with the call today is that every week there are at least half a dozen plays where even more questionable taunting occurs, but you don't see a flag. Hell many of them as mentioned above end up on Sportscenter.

This.
What a bunch of uptight assholes.
What if this had been a game for the SEC championship? You would take points off of the board? What a load of unmitigated crap.
Posted on 10/8/11 at 10:40 pm to TheShwenz
The rule needs to be how it was. There is no reason to remove a TD from the board.

Unfortunately, I think it will take a game altering call under this rule to make the necessary change, and it will be a damn shame.

The coaches wanted this rule. I bet Les Miles is not one of them.

The right call for an AWFUL rule. I hated that it got taken off the board becuase it was one of the most exciting things I've ever seen. Ah well.
I agree. I've been rewatching it over and over again... wanting to relive when I spilled my chips all over the carpet drunkenly screaming HEISMAN!!! HEISMAN!!!! hahaha.
But it was the right call. Like you said, right call, bad rule.

Okay. Please specifically state what factors in Wing's touchdown constitute "taunting" as opposed to other emotional reactions during the game.

Whats Next? No smiling? He made no taunt directed at anyone. The gesture could have meant anything.
Posted on 10/8/11 at 10:51 pm to Kjnrayjn
Sure looked like he was directing it right at a UF player.
Posted on 10/8/11 at 10:53 pm to TheShwenz
Wing is a lock for the guy award if he keeps pinning them inside the 15.

I guess there should be a judge on the sideline to put players under oath to determine their intent. Because it also looked like he turned around to see if he was clear and simultaneously shrugged his arms as if to say "am I in the clear?".

When he blatantly threw his arms up while looking at members of the opposing team. Pretty obvious call. Sorry if it's too hard to comprehend for the "voice of reason."
