The basketball team was better than the football team when I was at LSU. You also left off Pete Maravich. I think he was a pretty top-flight recruit.

Why are you rehashing old videos from March?

Wade, as much as I hate to admit it, has gotten some top level recruits. It does not matter that it has "never happened." The hope is that it will happen this year, and it can.

To prove Spears ain't on LSU's side. His only loyalty is to Saban.

Listing 5 people from different generations isn't "by the droves". So your point doesn't hold water.
Also, he was talking about all programs in any sport. It was a generalization. Its the same as when Ole Miss got big time recruits after having a top 50 class the year before.

I might be in the minority here, but I’m not a fan of Marcus Spears and think he represents the university poorly.

Such bs... That's like saying Saban cheated to put together those great teams at LSU, including Spears.

Players seem to know a winner when recruited. Same can be said for the influx of hoops talent after WW was hired.

It's amazing how Duke & Kentucky out recruit LSU in basketball every year.

Of course he's not on LSU's side, you idiot. He is a commentator and is supposed to call it like he sees it.

I get what he’s saying. Sudden, drastic improvements in a school’s ability to recruit are skeptical. He just didn’t say it very well.

By the logic of his statement, there would never be any changes in competitive college sports hierarchy. Clemson, for example, would never be able to compete with the likes of Florida State if we were making this statement in 1996.

Then again, maybe he’s right. Maybe there are no successes in the corrupt game of “amateur” college football without cheating. Maybe every blue blood only got where they are because they cheat better than everyone else.

Daddy Dale was giving us a drove of top players and we fired him ,Lesley was giving us a drove of top players we fired him , maybe the coaches are too scared to give us a drove of top players !

He gets paid to give his honest opinion. He does not get paid to be a LSU homer. If you want that don’t listen to him. Listen to someone else.

Yea, but it is different when you coach gets caught on the horn talking about paying players. 2+2 = 4.
