This seems to be the theme of the week here, and somehow people think it excuses them from being a complete dumbass when they say it.

Your spelling says you're in 9th grade.

Spears' predictions were wrong. No one has us beating Auburn and Miami. He also picked Miss State in a few weeks. So we'll see how he looks after September is over. Right now, all these analysts were wrong

Boom? More like a popcorn fart coming from a Saban nut guzzler

He doesn't "hurt my feelings" but he does needle me with his allegiance to Saban. I specifically remember a commercial when he was in school about how he "committed to lsu and not the coach. Because the coach may go to the NFL before he graduates and/or goes pro." That he "plays for the school". I'm sure there was a shite ton of negative recruiting my Miami, etc to keep him away from the coach that was "leaving to go pro."

He can be an analyst without talking down LSU's program. He can vent frustration or what he feels without dogging the program.
Give me an example of how that can be done. A lot of people say exactly what you have and yet make no effort to differentiate the two.

Folks sure do hate other people who don't share their same opinion.
Spears had all the reason in the world to be skeptical. Being that in his current capacity, he's supposed to be unbiased, what's wrong with picking LSU to not he very good, just like most non-homers expected as well?

Spears is soft if he cares what we think

Marcus is an LSU great.
What is a analyst? Isn't an analyst a person that studies information and makes predictions.
So ESPN is paying seventeen analysts and they all came to the same conclusion. Do you think Marcus came to LSU, watched the team workout and talked to the coaches before he made his prediction or did he read the ESPN line and nod approvingly.
Be happy Marcus is in sports and not a portfolio manager.

He's never been objective. His love for Saban is well known

I just think it’s funny that so many say Finebaum is a Bama shill but people want Spears to be a LSU cheerleader basically.
Nit npme. However he's not owning anyone if he's not impressed but claims he has higher standards than others. He's just upset he's wrong

I think the problem at hand is that Spears is so focussed on not being a homer, that he goes way too far in the other direction. He feels that dogging the program (calling LSU the Cleveland Browns of college football) makes him more respectable because of not having any bias. That's not necessary for him to do. He's going way above and way beyond with it. It's why a lot of us have lost respect for the guy. His job is to be an analyst. It's not his job to prove to the world how little of a pro LSU guy he is.
