Dude could have been an all american linebacker at LSU in year 3 but insteads transfers to TCU and play WR

I’m sure Jones and this new staff would have found a good spot for him. He was too good of an athlete not to be on the field in some capacity.

Now that's just sad...could have been great rush end at LSU.

For sure! I remember a few tweets when he was still on our team that he should be playing safety and was complaining about it. Clearly he isn’t good enough though

He could have never been a 3 down linebacker in the SEC. He was 194lbs soaking wet.

He was used as a situational pass rusher at times, and that was really all he could do. He was a gadget type player that didn't have a true position on the field. From what people on this forum have said the reason he couldn't stick at safety is because he was terrible on pass coverage.

So since you can't have a 190+lb full time linebacker in Div I NCAA football, and he can't cover anybody, what role could he have filled here?

People said that about Tahj Jones and Debo for a long time. It was the biggest reason they never played.

If he stayed he could have EASILY gotten up to 215. In college football now a 210-215 LBer is really quality

Would have easily added weight to him. He would have been a third down pass rush terror.

Nothing but love for Marcel. He was key in getting us to the natt and was on his way to greatness at LSU. I’m sure he’ll be fine.

He’s listed as a WR on TCU’s roster.

He’s listed at 6’-2” 205, that’s good size for a WR. His bio says be played WR in high school.

Best of luck to the kid.

If it was so easy for him to add 30-35lbs of muscle or so then why wasn't to make at least some gains in between the 2019 and 2020 season, before he left LSU?

He left LSU weighing 194lbs, the exact weight he was when he got here. I thought he was going to be a killer safety, but apparently he could not cover anybody. He was a kid they were never able to find a specific position he could play.

I was expecting him to be a much bigger impact player than just a guy who they would use to do a safety blitz in 3rd down situations. I thought he was a disappointment.

I mean I love LSU guys but I think Burrow, Clyde, Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, Moss, Stingley, Fulton, Jacoby, Phillips, Delpit, Queen, K’Lavon, the offensive line, Shelvin, Rashad, and Logan had a lot more to do with getting us a natty.

Just like the coaches brag about past stars who went on to be successful. They also need to educate players about guys like this who got impatient and made horrible decisions.

He could have done what many LSU players have done and put on weight/bulk over the summers. Putting on 20 lbs would have put him right around the weight of most top LB picks in the draft.
