Pitching and players will be here next year. Running bases hurt the most in my opinion. Pitching was very good in game 2. Bunting was nonexistent with opportunities in game 1. Left on base or thrown out in later innings killed momentum. Almost overcame it in game 2. Not sure I’d blame is on players making running/stealing mistakes or if it is coaching. Bunting people over is a choice but hindsight proves me right. But it is easy to second guess a coach.

Rabelais in The Advocate sort of nailed it noting, All the little things that make up a championship team eluded LSU.”

LSU had too many base running errors, too many coaching errors. I don’t know what’s going on among staff, but this is crazy stuff.

It all flows from PM's tight/nervous demeanor. Players play tight and coaches coach tight in these big moments. Unless there are extraordinary player leaders to bust this up, we are going to see this over and over again.

We need a change in philosophy and recruiting philosophy. The players Paul is bringing in are just not good enough

Myriad factors go into who they recruit and who ultimately stays on campus, but I agree that the overall talent level has decreased.

It's been several years since LSU had a true ace, and the pattern of injuries and regression is disconcerting.

Why aren’t these sore arms and pitching injuries occurring with other teams. Why is something so simple as base-running so elusive to LSU? Why are there so many gaps in a class ranked no1?

I don’t believe OM is tight, he’s just not tough enough for the job.
