Then why did we fire Miles ????? I agree O should have not been hired.... he went 9-4 last year and it was his best record ever as a HC.... I don't see him doing any better than that for however long he is here....
Why do you post logical stuff like this and then FLIP YOUR shite when someone else says basically the same thing?

I'm not going to argue with any of ya'll (hopefully) any more. Tired of it. Orgeron is going to be here next season no matter what. If the tigers have a good season he will probably be around a while, if they have a bad one he will probably be gone. No point in me getting into conversations about that with ya'll. Don't care
I'm just looking forward, as always, to this coming season. Can't wait to see what kind of offense Ensminger rolls out and how well the players can execute it. Want to see one of the QB's really develop and take the reigns of this offense. Lot of potential talent on both sides of the ball. Going to be a fun season or maybe not. Can't wait to see it unfold anyway.

I completely agree with all of that. I try not to argue with anyone, I love the discussion though. I'd prefer you speak your mind to spark healthy debate.
Yes, I'm still on the quest for healthy debate on tRant.

It is described as a revamped West Coast system.

Coaches have studied “a lot of what the Saints are doing” as well, he said, again indicating a spread-type offense that relies heavily on quick and intermediate passing and scatbacks in the backfield.

The offense is a pro-style attack, but one of its strongest elements is a hurry-up, multi-receiver package
quote:
Play-action off of zone rushing is another key element, and deep balls off of bootlegs are a significant piece of the scheme, too.
Love all that. Sounds like the offense most every one wanted all these years. We'll have to wait and see how well it gets implemented and how well the players and especially QB's can execute it. Yes I agree that we shouldn't have taken that detour with Canada last season but Orgeron kind of boxed his self in when he said he was going to hire the best OC available and Canada was generally recognized as that at the time. Hope he learned not to do what pleases the fans anymore and just do what is best for the team. Now that his back is up against it, he has to do what is best for the team and not the fans.

I haven't agreed with much of what you've posted about o and his handling of the football team lately, but I certainly agree with your above quote.

I think most people agree that we needed to move forward but a lot of people feel like firing Les and hiring O is 1 step forward 2 steps

Everyone who says they want him to fail means they’d rather him fail spectacularly now rather than eek out his stay with like 9-4 seasons and maybe a 10-3 season here or there.

He wants to run a scheme an ubertalented USC squad made look almost invincible 15 years ago that he only witnessed, and the OC had no part in.
It sounds like an experimental journey into a scheme that none have actually utilized.
"I know the offense regressed from 2017 but I'm sure it'll take off after another year to get fully implemented and familiarized, Joe. We comin'."

This is what I fear. We've tasked some woefully inexperienced people to implement a rather complex initiative.

"We could only implement 45% of the new offense this year."

On what planet was Canada "generally recognized" as the best OC available?
I'm not playing revisionist history but there were lots of people underwhelmed with the hire and even when he was being mentioned as an option.

well my LSU fan brother, I'm not going to say the same about you FWIW. Would be a boring site if we all held the same opinion.

cool, and then a lot of people don't think it's a step back or are waiting to see if it's a step back.

Dude was coming off a Broyles award invite. Fans on here and media generally applauded the hire.

Canada was a great hire if O would’ve kept his promise and kept his fat head out of Canada’s way and let Canada run the entire Offense. But o couldn’t stay out of it and Canada I’m sure hated taking offensive advice from a career d line coach

Yes the unknown can be scary. But lets move forward boldly my brother.
When I was a young child I was afraid of heights but then I learned that climbing trees was fun and the higher you went the more adrenaline (though I may not have known what is was or why) you got and more enjoyable.
