I had no idea how bad things were on the team till a couple weeks ago. The players are very unhappy with the schemes and have no confidence in Malleveto.

I heard rumblings that Earl Lane is unhappy also.

How do you know this?

Three schools of thought:

1 He will reluctantly reassign them at seasons end . And hire a proven DC.
2) He is too loyal/stupid to make the changes and will stick with them.
3) He will fire their arse this clumsily in mid season.

Of these three, scenario A seems to be in the best interest of Lsu football and all involved.

By the way, WHO, WHO, says they will be here next year ? I want ONE name.

You peeps need a chill sammich.

eh, im speculating.

he probably said it at a presser or something sometime.

I don't listen to his pressers though, as they are a complete coach speak joke.

My question is will they step down themselves if Miles doesnt do it?

I hope they have realized till now that they are not dc material.

He will not fire or demote anyone. He may make Mallory just d coordinator, but other than that he will give either him or them another year. 0832ki611ukokui1

It took 1 game for Bo to figure out the LSU defense. BLITZ!

I don't think Miles will get rid of Mallory & Preveto, he'll give them next season to right the Ship.

And possibly take a reduction in pay? Possible, but highly unlikely.

Am I the only one thinking "thank God Bo stayed to coach the NCG" last year?

How about # 1, that seems to be the best choice to mw.

The Defense should have won both the Kentucky and Arkansas games last year!

We knew the scheme was flawed last year but Pelini has a lot of experience and can tweek it so the team comes out ahead.

This year its the same scheme but Malleveto doesnt have the defensive savy that Pelini had.

Its time to bring in a new DC with a new aggressive defensive scheme with experience against the spread offense

I make a bold prediction. THere will be a never Def Coach LSu fans will like.

Everyone is a expert and the new guy will be crucifyed on a Purple and Gold Cross just like all the rest

I am suprised that the Fan base has not called for Les Miles Secretary to be replaced

Peveto is a great position coach? What are you smoking?

And as far as recruiting goes, ANYBODY can recruit LSU. Only major college in the state.

If they don't step down they need to be replaced. I found it interesting to hear Mac Brown say that he owed his success at Texas to hiring top notch coordinators. He said he was lucky to work for a University which was willing to pay top dollar for good coordinators. Now, Mac is not the most successful coach out there but he has sustained excellence for a number of years. Miles needs to do the same. Hire a new DC.
