Well then, Salmon, what, exactly, is the argument?

Before Gundy took over Okie State, the 5 years prior they were 31-29 for a win % of .516. In his 9 years, they are 77-38 for a win % of .66. So a 15% win increase. Basically, he built them into who they are today

Before Miles took over LSU, the 5 years prior we were 48-16 for a win % of .75. In his 9 years, we are 95-24 for a win % of .79. Basically we have maintained.

It looks clear to me Gundy is a better coach

You wanna see someone who made okistate a winner? See Gundy

I've seen it been asked what Les has done for LSU lately.

Fair question, but what exactly has Gundy done for OK State lately? I think he's a good coach, but his only BCS appearance was the same year as our last one.

I'm not saying Gundy couldn't do better at LSU than Les, but his resume doesn't suggest that is a guarantee.

increasing from 50 to 60 percent is much easier than increasing from 75 to 80. Not to mention the competition Miles has faced compared to Gundy at OSU. Coke on now.

Gundy has faced the same competition at Okie st that Miles did, and has won at a 15% higher rate. I think it is safe to say he is a better coach

ETA: 15% is good for 2 more wins a season

before last year jumbo lost 2 games a year in the ACC with as Much talent as LSU, if not more.

He has realistically 2 teams to beat a year, and lately it has been 1, and that team is Clemson.

And he has only played for 1 National Champion ships, because most year she shite the bed against some team like NC State.

Wow. You really don't understand that the logic is that there is a risk in hiring a new coach.

I agree. Gundy really is this boards answer. He will appease the negatigers, and the pumpers should like him because he is a better version of Miles

It's silly to say LSU is a more appealing job than Texas. Florida and Texas are the top 2 jobs in the country.

Except for things like the LHN.. and boosters being very very involved. Politics is killing Texas.

The competition part went over your head apparently, and thank goodness Les set him up for that success.

And 4% is good for one extra per season as well. But miles doesn't yet credit of that, he just maintained in the hardest division of the hardest conference with the beast coach as his main rival.

He is 5-5 currently may not even be bowl eligible this year with games against Baylor and Oklahoma remaining.

Seriously in the Miles era name 5 coaches that have been hired by major programs. That have lived up to the expectations of when they were hired. Or that have come close to the expectations of some of the people in this fan base.

And to counter your arguement of this is good as we get if you haven't noticed it's been pretty damn good. Name 5 coaches that's had the success Miles has had while at LSU.

So here's your chance name them!!!!!

Miles went 6-6 three times at Okie State.

Like I said, I think Gundy is a good coach and he might do a better job than Les here. It's not like he has been dominant though. He hasn't even won 60% of his conference games.

I don't know that he'll automatically make LSU win more than we have been and no one else does.

You tellin me someone else couldn't do better than losing 22 games since 08? With the talent base of LA, resources, passion, facilities?

Bama was a dumpster fire before Saban got there so don't think just anyone could do it while standing on their head. Also, this is a dumb argument because there are 17 million reasons we don't need to worry about that right now...

What about Mike Leach as HC retaining Chavis at the DC spot. Or heck can Chavis and bring Boom back to be DC.

Anyway, can you imagine Leach's offense being run by Harris with Dural and Dupre and Quinn at WR. Not to mention being able to run with LF7 and Williams. And our TEs like Smith and Washington finally being able to get in on the offense.

Heck the defense would just have to be average.
