We have to have someone better that’s riding the bench

Bk is slow to play freshmen. I’m convinced his plan is to keep them from going pro too soon, he’s playing for two years from now.

He led the team in tackles last night, but lets just focus on the plays he got beat , right?

3rd year starter now . Hard to imagine he’s kept his spot this long .

I drew mountains of dislikes and snarky responses in early August in response to my post that none of the defensive backs in the pre-season two-deep would be drafted.

I probably should have said drafted in the first 4 rounds.

But I stand by it. It's least talented position group that I have seen at LSU in a long time.

Well when you have 2 defensive holding penalties and blow coverages multiple times including Arkys last TD of game hard not to focus on that.

Lol

Campbell
Jones
Perkins
Weeks
Jackson

He puts freshmen in the lineup and he’s not scared to give them meaningful snaps

But they have to be ready. Some guys take longer than others.

Kelly is well aware of the issues in the secondary. So if someone is not getting playing time, then it’s pretty much guaranteed they aren’t good enough right now.

Has there ever been a more appropriately named CB in the history of football ?

He’s made a few but he’s still bad.

The tackle at the goal line early in the game last night was huge.

Wasn’t there a play last year when a guy broke free and looked like an easy TD but Burns ran him down from behind and they ended up not scoring or kicking a FG?

I’d argue a good player intercepts that pass and goes 99 yards for a td last night . Either way he’s average at best and I feel one of the freshman should start getting snaps .

I never said he was a good player. Just that he’s made a couple of good plays.

I also think he’s in the lineup for a reason. And as bad as he might be, he’s probably the best option right now.

Would rather see one of the freshman either Yates or Toviano play and improve than let Burns go out and repeatedly get beaten as he has done since he got here in 2021. He is no better and maybe worse than when he got here a waste of a scholarship.

Yes he chased down Jase McClellan against Bama and then Harold sacked Bryce on 3rd down to force a FG. Burns has his moments but he is who he is.

Who cares what you want.

You really think the coaches aren’t putting the best players out there.

Burns is bad, but if he’s on the field that much it’s because he’s the best option.

You don’t put freshmen out there just because. They have to ready and if they aren’t they won’t play.

We have also seen many freshmen get thrown out too early, fail and it ruins them.

Started year one through negotiations with coach O and his family/hs coach to get Quincy Wiggins also , a little known fact to most .
