Just so you'll know, I'm one of the .01% who actually understands what's going on in the Middle East. I'm not an Islamic scholar - and would never desire to be - but I do understand the basic tenets of Islam and how they think.

No crusades in recent or ancient history. However there continues to be Islamic conversion or death to this day. Not to mention beheading and executions of any that are not Muslim or refuse to convert, along with slavery in a very oppressive society in rule with public floggings and amputations. The weapons of mass destruction were carried out in barrels in trucks (want photos? bet you would so you could win a Pulitzer). Gov't said they didn't find any so they didn't have to explain where they disposed of them and how. Don't jog on the streets of Al Asaad.

Everytime I read someone saying that someone loves their country or died for their country, I want to know what is a country? Some arftificial lines drawn on a map? A flag? The head/leader whether you call them President, King, Emperor or whatever.
When was the last time we entered a war because their country attacked us? Pearl Harbor? A bunch of terrorists from Saudi Arabia take down the towers and somehow we are at war with Afghanistan and Iraq. Wars are fought to make money for powerful people. Study history if you want to know what's going on.

That's exactly what happened in the Middle East after WW1. The French and English divvied up the territory by drawing arbitrary lines on a map. Didn't take into consideration the different tribes and sects. A big reason for all the instability over there in the past 100 years.
