I don't care what his name is. I still love the guy. He's my favorite Tiger basketball player of all time, and I have never really been a big basketball fan since he left LSU.

He was the best college basketball player that I have ever seen with my own eyes.

I agree! I never saw Maravich play in college or in person anywhere, and I think he is unquestionably the best ever. However, Chris Jackson was the best college basketball player I have seen play in person also!

And Pistol against Dan Issel from UK. Both had better careers than CJ and GG.

Does anyone remember the SEC road game (maybe against Alabama, not sure), where CJ hit a 3 at the buzzer? We inbounded from the opposite end of the court with a few seconds left. The ball was thrown in high and to the other end of the court. CJ looked up at the ball and then stopped running as if giving up on being able to catch up with it. So his defender quit running too. Then CJ hauled arse down the court just in time to grab the ball, set his feet, and nail the three. His momentum took him out of bounds and he kept running into the locker room. The opponents crowd actually gave him a standing ovation. One of the most fantastic plays I have ever seen. I would love to see this again. Video anyone?

I think I remember a great 3-point shot to end a game against Tennessee his freshman year, but he probably did that sort of thing more than once.

I know he hit his share of shots at the buzzer, but this was truly a once-in-a-lifetime shot.
