Here's a YouTube clip: LINK. Let us know if you find it buried in those freshman highlights somewhere.

I remember Jackson in the game against loyola-Marymount(Bo Kimble, Hank Gathers(RIP)days....dude was unbelieveable...such a fast pace game it was like watching a tennis match going from one end of the court to the other in just a few seconds, hell, at halftime I needed Gatorade...game went into overtime with LSU winning 148-140...one of a kind...

How in the hell did this team not win every game?? Mo was amazing. Shaq, Stanley, Singleton could jump out of the gym, Boudreaux was a solid role player, Tracey was an in your face bulldog, Sims was a Barkley clone. I mean, holy shite what a roster. THREE fricking 7 footers......unheard of.

Chris Jackson was the best I've ever seen. You know how you watch old games from 20 years ago and think, "Man, the game has changed so much and gotten so much faster." Well, when I watch old highlights of Chris, I still think there's no one who could stop him today either (kind of the same way with Pete).

1989-90 Roster

10 Maurice Williamson G 6-0 172 So. HS New Haven, Conn. (Cross HS)
13 Dennis Tracey G 6-0 177 Jr. 2L New Orleans, La. (de la Salle HS)
21 Lenear Burns F 6-7 215 Fr. HS Angie, La. (Varnado HS)
24 Vernel Singleton F 6-7 212 So. 1L Natchez, Miss. (S. Natchez HS)
32 Harold Boudreaux F 6-9 238 So. HS Arnaudville, La. (Cecilia HS)
33 Shaquille O'Neal C 7-1 286 Fr. HS San Antonio, Texas (Cole HS)
34 Randy Devall G 6-4 192 Jr. 1L Baton Rouge, La. (Lee HS/Garden City CC)
35 Chris Jackson G 6-1 168 So. 2L Gulfport, Miss. (Gulfport HS)
41 Richard Krajewski C 6-9 215 Jr. 1L Grafton, N.D. (Grafton HS)
43 Geert Hammink C 7-0 243 So. 1L Didam, Netherlands ()
44 Wayne Sims F 6-7 247 Jr. 2L DeRidder, La. (DeRidder HS)
53 Stanley Roberts C 7-0 288 So. 1L Hopkins, S.C. (Lower Richland HS)

As disciplined as the 86 F4 team was (and they had to be as an over-achieving team), Brown showed NO ability to teach the Shaq/Jackson teams to run an offense other than street ball. It was so frustrating to watch.

I was lucky to see that team. Chris was awesome and so were several of those guys listed.

Thanks for the game description of Chris hitting that last second shot and running off. I must've missed that one.

Creole...you had to ask. We had to question Dale's court savvy with this team's talent as an example of one huge reason why.

CJ by himself took down #1 UNLV with Larry Johnson, Stacey Augman, etc.

This is with Vernel and Linear Burns playing center.

Dwayne Schintzius

You know, that just got me thinking. In the rush during recent years to make as much fun as possible over mullets from past decades, there has been an unfortunate amount of collateral damage to people who weren't really wearing mullets. A lot of young kids today thinks it refers to anyone who had longer hair in the back than in the front and sides, but that's much too broad a definition. People with haircuts resembling Patrick Swayze or Kurt Russell from the 80's often get lumped in with the mullet crowd, which they really don't deserve.

Dwayne Schintzius, on the other hand, had a true arse, undeniable, mother-fricking mullet, and he rocked it hard-core. So in closing, I'd just like to say for the record that this...

... is not a mullet. But that what Schintzius had (complete with the spiked crew cut up front) sure as shite was.

He probably wore tons of jorts in his day as well.

That is all.

I think I remember a great 3-point shot to end a game against Tennessee his freshman year, but he probably did that sort of thing more than once.

CJ inbounded to Blanton who flipped it back and screened two defenders while CJ played string music from the deep corner.

In many ways the end result of the 89/90 team felt much like the football Tigers of '09. So much talent , every single loss tough to swallow, proved they could hang with anyone. The only difference being, that basketball team did in fact defeat the two best teams they played, UNLV and LMU that year. They found ways to come up short against lesser teams, which is something that will always mar Dale's record. He found ways to beat many a great team and lose to many a lesser.

I'LL TELL YOU HOW DALE BROWN, he could only coach when he had a good bench coach, huckaby in 81 and tex winters in 86, that team was on espn as one of the top five talented teams ever. dale brown great recruiter, terrible game coach. ask bobby knight, thought the game was over till he looked down there and saw dale brown coaching. classic
