This is just one big mess for the Astros. We still got Mac though

They going to try and out do what the Phillies did to the Oregon State kid last year?
Posted on 7/22/14 at 11:09 am to TigerCub
I wish they would just get rid of the astros
Posted on 7/22/14 at 11:11 am to harry coleman beast
They're slowly getting rid themselves.

Which organization is run better. Astros or Raiders?

this class is so stacked, i don't even know how to predict a line up for next year. Pretty much every incoming freshman has a chance to compete for playing time, if not start
I agree. Poche will most likely be the friday night guy, with Marshall then Bouman. Not a bad top 3. Bouman started coming around at the end. Good pitching depth with Latz and Godfrey. Lots of bat power in this class, too. I'm stoked for next year.

You're forgetting Reynolds and Newman... and Lange. Not to mention the relievers who are returning: Person, Devall, Cartwright, etc. who could all make a huge stride next year...
OMG, we haven't even talked about hitting...

thought i read that one of the twins was a pretty good hitter.

I was mainly talking about the recruits adding to what we already had
But the hitting will be huge. Javi did a great job recruiting. We are stacked on hitting. It's going to be a good few years.

LSUTygerFan - Go read this thread. It's a breakdown of all the recruits. Very informative. You have to take some of the numbers with a grain of salt with high school ball. Bregman hit like .670 or something his last season
LINK
I've already predicted Deichmann will lead the team in homers next year. Kid has some pop.

Gotcha. I brought up Reynolds and Newman b/c I think one may start on Saturday. Next year's team is stacked. It's tough to make a lineup. Things I feel 100% about:
Stevie and Laird in OF
Bregman at SS
Hale somewhere
Poche pitching on Fri or Sat
That's it.

Stevie and Laird most definitely, and I think Fraley is his job to lose. He came on strong once given a full time opportunity. Bryce could certainly push for his spot, though.
Paps will push Chinea behind the plate. If Chinea struggles offensively, I can see paps coming in pretty quickly. Mainieri said he is similar to Micah Gibbs behind the plate with a slightly stronger arm
I agree with the rest of what you said. Hard to think Marshall won't make the rotation with his stuff, but it's possible. I'm definitely a fan of Reynolds. I hope he comes back stronger than ever.

If Pap isnt better than Chinea he shouldnt have been recruited by LSU
Posted on 7/22/14 at 1:29 pm to harry coleman beast
Criteria for being better than Chi: squatting far enough away from the hitter.
