In retrospect, Nix has screwed his bargaining power by making the agreement contingent on Aiken signing. If he hadn't done this, he could have demanded WAY more money than he's getting (also which would have pulled from Mac's pool).

Nobody could have predicted this.
Nix wanted to go pro, he was ready to make a deal and start playing ball. Nix had his number and the Astros met it.
Hell, for all we know Marshall may have already given the Astros a number and they are just waiting on Aiken.

This is falling into place similar to (dare I say it...) Zach Lee. Last minute astronomical amount of money being thrown at a kid already on campus that could be impossible to turn down. Life changing money that even a 1st round pick in 3 years won't match.

No I don't think it is. I'm was just saying that was the case with Nix so it's possible (not likely) Mac did the same thing.

If I had a guess, I would bet Mac is pretty in the dark about all of it. Of course he knows as much as we know which is what we are seeing in media, but all of this is contingent on what Aiken does and no one yet knows how that's going to end.
