Then why wouldn't the Astros sign him? Mac Marshall is good, but he is still a 5-10 round talent. You don't blow the overall #1 pick going after a 7th round talent. The Astros obviously know more than what's been let out or they wouldn't have pulled the 6.5 million offer. It doesn't make any sense.
That's what I'm saying. That there's more to it than just a small UCL defect.

Lets go win a championship
Reynolds Saturday. Mac to Sunday.

Zardon at 3rd.

That's you're week one. I think eventually, Pap catches and Deichman comes in at 3rd or DH. I haven't given up on Zardon.

I think it's a safe bet that Mainieri won't have 2 true freshmen in his opening weekend rotation, but I think Godfrey is really damn good and will be in there before long.

Also, Deichmann will start from day one. He's special.

I agree. Godfrey is the best player in this class that no ones talking about.

Can't blame him. He'll have a hell of a time at LSU. Nothing to be disappointed about. He still has a great opportunity to make just as much money, if not more.

Definitely.

Now time to add LSU back to his twitter bio.

I'll let the fall change my mind. But I'm not knocking him; just still have faith in Zardon.

Here's what I know. It's been reported that his UCL has an issue. Fine. That's repairable. Thousands have pitchers have successfully come back from the surgery

No one questions whether he could pitch again if he has to have surgery down the road. The question is whether or not the pitcher that he could become down the road worth whatever he is asking today?

It really isn't a difficult concept to understand. High school pitchers are risky to begin with, and this one carries more risk than they originally thought which caused them to change the value they placed on him.

Zardon, I think, could be the DH if his bat gets back to where it was last fall, but he doesn't have the fielding range that Deichmann does.

Deichmann has been called another Bregman. If thats even close to being true, then he's the opening day starter at 3B.

Dude is 6'2 and already has a 94 MPH fastball and a breaking ball BEFORE Alan Dunn has even touched him.

No doubt. I'm not disputing there was an extra risk. We were talking about if the issue was a UCL defect.

Zardon won't start. Maybe he'll get "first shot" at the job, but he won't keep it.
