Hitt should be kissing Miles arse for letting him do anything but carry the water jugs. He's been the worst OL all year. On a bad OL, that's saying something.

Sounds like the team is rallying around Miles:
"The way he came out and said that says a lot about him as a man and as a person," senior tight end Richard Dickson said. "He's taking a lot of criticism and is going to take a lot of criticism so we feel like we're going to have to rally around him."
Ridley said Miles needed to take the blame for the loss.
"The team, that's something that we needed to hear," he said. "Because there's a bunch of questions going around. People are wondering, 'What's the situation? What's going on?' But coach Miles, for him to do that, it says a lot, and that's why I look forward to playing for him in the future. This team's got to come together, period."
"Any head coach that does that in front of their team, in front of their assistants and comes up there and says, 'This was my fault,' I mean it takes a lot for somebody to swallow their pride and say that, 'I messed something up.' He did what he needed to do. There's nothing else that needs to be said by him. It says a lot about the person that he is. I respect that he said, 'This was my fault.' Coach Miles, he manned up and said he cost us the game. That's all you can ask for from him."

just me, what else was Miles going to do. He had absolutely no choice but to say it was all his fault, because at the end of the day, he's the coach so he's responsible.
These kids are playing their arse off. I think Miles is doing the best he can do. Problem is he simply isn't a very good coach under pressure. Sure there has been times where it turned up rosey for him. But, over the last 2 years he's been exposed as a mediocre at best coach.
Now he either needs to make changes to the way he coaches or he won't make it at LSU much longer.

Just another case of lack of discipline.
Can't have players running on at the mouth about the coaches, each other, the food, etc.
Agree but the fact that he felt the need to say it speaks volumes. Players are not buying into the system because they don't know what the system is or if there even is one.

Lyle played very poorly in that game and when Hurst stepped in, that was the first time Powe didn't launch a lineman (Hitt) into the backfield. I usually take up for Hitt, but he struggled in that game.
He is being benched for performance issues.

That's an interesting Guilbeau article. Hitt's statements were mild compared to what Ridley said...but he, of course, has to play

Totally understand what the young man said and why he would say it.

Now we just need ciron to make a comment so he can be benched.

Lyle may have forgotten how confused he seems to be lately. Maybe he needs to watch more film of himself getting run over all year, from the back and the front.

FWIW, maybe Hitt's lack of knowledge explains why he's been getting abused this year.

Hitt should be benched because his lack of blocking is hurting the team. Hebert should be benched because he may injure the QB the next time a nose guard cranks it up on him. Ridley should be named captain for stating the obvious--our OC is insane for constantly calling for passes in short yardage or sure field goal situations.

Hitt feels offensive coordinator Gary Crowton is not always confident in the running game.
"I think he is more comfortable with the pass," Hitt said. "There's been times where the running game's worked, and there's been times that it hasn't. Sometimes I think we should run, and we throw a touchdown.
But there's been other times, where the pass didn't work and I think a run would have worked. I can't understand all that goes into their (Crowton's and head coach Les Miles') thoughts. I wish I knew because then things might make more sense."

On the pass from JJ to TT at the end of the game T-Bob's man ran by him so fast T-Bob couldn't get a piece of him. The pass play was going to be in the endzone, but JJ was pressured into hurrying his throw and it landed short of the goal.

He doesn't have to say anything. If you see his expression as he walked off the field you can read his mind.

This is why Saban never allowed his players to talk to AH's like Guilblow. These writers want to be relevant and when they print stuff they sensationalize it to make their column sound like they are in the know.

I saw that. T-Bob got owned a few times, but I think he's progressively gotten better.

"I question plays, but at some point you've got to let go and just do your job," Hitt said. "As much as I wish the coaches had more confidence in the run, I can understand why they don't."
This quote was left out of the original post for some reason.

Hitt should have been benched after the first game of the season and stayed his butt on the bench the rest of the season for the PITIFUL blocking he did. Hell he coudn't even block his little brother in the La Tech game.

I'm sure Hitt is just pissed he got benched for Hurst, but he deserves it.
