I am a BIG 'Coach-O' fan and really like what coaching moves have been made to get this offense competitive in the modern era of college football. BUT, I still have not forgotten when Les Miles lied to all of us saying he installed a new offense and LSU would 'open it up' and we got beat by Wisconsin in the opening game.

Can people calm down just a bit and let's see the product on the field...Preparing for INCOMING!!!

Hoping and praying we will finally see the multi dimensional offense that the water cooler is serving up...

He never said he installed a new offense. He said “the Engine is running pretty stinking good”. After the Texas Tech Game.

It hasn't been much different the last 2 seasons as far as what we were told we would see and what we saw.

I'm a bit confused here. Are you an optimistic guy or a wait and see guy?

Just giving you a little shite on a Saturday morning. 3 weeks from right now we will all be awake with butterflies from hell.

Amen, brother. IMO there will definitely be an attempt at this and there will be change, the amount of production is what I'm anxious about.

Painful memory right there...Will never forget it. Must have been the 3rd possession or so and all the Tiger fans in our section at Lambeau couldn’t do anything but shake our heads in disbelief.

IF we come out all conservative and running the same shite as last year in game 1, I'm seriously going to come unglued. All I want to see is at least what we saw in the Spring Game. But, if it's like the Southeastern game, I'm gonna be looking to break stuff like Fred Durst.

Les lied to us all of the time. I never had much respect for him, and he ran our program into the ground at the end. Hard headed, unwilling to change, and he played favorites. He also had some issues early on at Michigan, and they weren’t pretty. We spent a small fortune to get rid of him, so let’s quit using him as a reference point.

I’m more than willing to give O a chance to be good to his word. His career depends on it. He didn’t hire Joe Brady with the intention of keeping things the same. And if you watched the player interviews from SEC media day, It sure seems like the offense is gonna be more unpredictable and different. Similar giddy comments from Justin Jefferson in his interview with Emily D. If O has duped all of these guys, it will be a disaster for morale and he’ll have a mutiny on his hands. He’s not that dumb.

We’ll know for sure pretty soon.

Nah, what's the use of being a fan if you can't get excited about the upcoming season?

I get hyped every year. The offense will be different this year, just need it to be more productive. We get a decent test in week two.

All head coaches lie, especially in the off-season. Head coaches are salesman, they are trying to sell their team to fans, pollsters, committee members and speaking to their team through the media.

He left a team that was talented enough to finish the regular seasons in 2016 11-1, in 2017 10-2 and I'm 2018 11-1.

The only games we lost because of outright talent were the Bama games in those 3 years. The Miss St loss was just a total team loss and probably the best single game coaching job of Mullen's career.

Miles "running the program into the ground" simply isn't true. He was losing games because of his egotistical coaching style and because he just lost his team. The message got stale. The talent did not. He didn't leave a championship roster, but still left a top 10 talented team.

I know right. I hope we're still undefeated when we play Texas in 4 weeks.

Obviously you've forgotten alot.

Less never promised to change his offense. This has to be one of the biggest lies spread through tiger droppings.

Not once did he say the offense would change

“I feel like we thought we were going to change the offense. Obviously, I heard that every single year since I’ve been here, a promise that we were going to change and we were going to throw it more. Of course, ultimately, we didn’t do that.”

Brandon Harris

quote:

“Do we want to consider change? You betcha,” Miles said. “I think ‘serious overhaul’ is appropriate

Les Miles

quote:

It prompted Miles to consider altering his ground-and-pound offense. With uncertainty surrounding the offensive coordinator and schematic changes looming, Miles said the bowl game against the Red Raiders (7-5) gives him a chance to start tinkering.

If you want to say he never gave specifics, that's cool and correct but yes, he did promise to make the offense more pass friendly and productive.

I'll never understand Rantard's innate need to be miserable. Even if it requires going back YEARS or even to a PREVIOUS coach - MORONS gonna MORON and find something to cry about.

Even when the current coach has changed the offense 3 times in 3 seasons. REALLY funny and Amazing

The issue is with people who buy into coach speak. I don't hold anything against Les. He did what he thought best for the team and program.

He talked changes but stayed with what he was comfortable with, I can't blame him for it.

But damn, he's been gone 3 years there's no need to be pissed at the guy who did his best regardless of what he said. All coaches do the same.

I just think it is funny the OP even started this thread.

It's like he woke up and went down his checklist:
New passing game/RPO coach - check
Team practicing new passing game/RPO - check
Awesome freaking defense with same DC - check
Defensive line will be more aggressive - check
New place kicker that set the record for longest kick in all-star game - check
Top five recruiting class last year and so far this year - check
Returning senior QB who grew up running the new offense - check
Two new running backs that were ranked in the top 6 in the nation by 24/7 - check
Offense line returning all starters but one - check

"Hmmmmm, Damn."

"WAIT!!!, I HAVE IT!!!, LSU's previous coach from three years ago lied about the offense. Hell yeah!!!!"

"Whew, for a instant there, I though I was going to be optimistic."

"Hell yeah baby, I need to start a thread and remind everyone what happened years ago under a different coach because of all the optimism that I LUV."

So glad I didn't travel to that game. I was close to pulling the trigger and then reminded myself to never trust Les Miles to win a game against an obviously weaker team.

Same. I remember being so pissed at that MF and BH.

LSU's offense, unchanged and bumbling, stuns the college football world

The secret playbook comments will never stop being funny to me. It's almost like a nasty fart at this point. It's just hilarious no matter what.
